Well me and the girl I am seeing got into the 65 Chevy. She was actually the one who took a steak knife, cut some of the weather stripping (needs to be replaced anyway so I didn't care) and unhooked the vent window... I knew I had to bring her for it. :bop1:
Now I have to replace the lock and the ignition, but right now I just want to know how to hotwire this thing because I am going to take it to someone to get an engine swap in about a month and need a way for this guy to start it. When I have the floors redone I'll worry about the locks then. Anyone know how to hotwire a 65 Chevy C-10?
Details please! :D
P.S. If your keys are a steak knife and a screw driver you might be a gearhead... or a Chevy owner. Ok I am done now!

OK, from my knowledge - GM vehicles from that era had a HOT red wire it the ignition cylinder. Connect that to PINK which is main ignition. Purple OR yellow will be crank, Brown is accessories like radio and wipers. Have fun with this one.

So wait a sec. Do I need to cross the RED to purple or yellow to start it and than connect the Red to the pink, or do I simply connect the RED to the PINK?

Or better yet...his own website!
He could name it : MYFU@KEDUPCARS.COM

BTW: That reminds me....I haven't been 'regular' lately, so I better go start a new thread..."Should I eat more salads, or take a laxative?"

I think I figured this out. You connect the RED with the PINK and keep touching them with the BROWN (which will crank) until it fires up!
Joe someone beat you to it. There is a website called www.brokentrucks.com and it's for K5 Blazers so... :P
Fastblackmerc if we needed a form for you it would consist of fromer Disneyland employees, you can tell us about your days of being Grumpy.
n00bkiller944 you are right I do keep people active, even if they do not care yet post anyway. ;)

Just make sure you keep proof of ownership with you. If you get stopped with it hotwired, it could be hard to explain to the officer's satisfaction without some documentation.
Good luck with it.

Do not leave the red and pink wires together when it is not running, or the points will weld themselves together!

Tony wouldn't I have to take the red and pink wires apart to kill it anyway? Thanks for the advice though, I don't want to weld anything yet!

Ask the girl you are seeing to hot-wire it for you and you do not have to worry about your pride you lost that a long time ago.

I don't know if it was ever stolen, but it wasn't stolen from me. The Blazer was, not the 65 Chevy pickup.
Gordon, what pride are you talking about? :flamer:

Half gallon of prune juice.
Actually you may be on to something, Dom, slam a half gallon of prune juice and wait about 30 minutes. Then go sit in the truck about 4 miles from the nearest "rest" facility. Trust me something will hit you that'll get you startin' that truck in no time! If not you can post up about where to buy new seats. ;)

Hi Dom - Purchase an ignition switch with keys , disconnect the wire harness from the original and plug in the new one and away you go.
As for the doors and trunk remove the golve compt. lock ( if not locked) and there may be a code on the cylinder which a locksmith will be able to make a key.
Good luck.

Then I would have to correct you too because this isn't the truck that was stolen! That was my other Chevy. I'd still take no offence to that though. ;)
