I know some of you are using the Car Chip F/X to track data from the OBDII port on the MM. I have been too.

This past weekend, I pulled my chip to further analyze the voltage output using the underdrive pulleys. I tried to download the car chip's data into my laptop and was only able to successfully download the data once out of about 30 plus attempts. I did not wipe the car chip clean and, unfortunately I did not save the car chip data to my lap top on my one successful download.

Every time I try to download from the car chip I get a message stating "Cannot open CRC file." I do not know what this means. Has anyone else seen this error? Any thoughts on what may be going wrong here?

I did get some interesting data points on the voltage issue and if I can ever get them back off of my car chip, I will be posting them. I think that data will clear up a whole lot of concern regarding the under drive pulleys.

Help me, please!!

i have been downloading data since January and have yet to receive a similar message. My data downloads with no problem, so I suggest you call them and ask what's going on -- meanwhile, get them to become a supporting vendor of this site!!

Ok - indulge me a moment--why would you want to mess with down-loading and messing with the cars computer stuff in the first place--and then to find out -whoops--I messed something up that was alright in the first place --OK --Am not a mechanic , nor a computer wizz, but what , if all was to go correctly, were you looking to gain or improve on --tell us who don't understand this approach--Thanks--Tom.

Tom: It is a flight data recorder. It enhances my enjoyment of the car to have more (even if useless) knowledge about the car and what it is doing and what it is thinking. For this particular exercise, I was looking for data that I could share regarding the system voltage post underdrive pulley installation.

Got it??
