Well I'm new to here, and I don't own a marauder (don't hurt me please). I'm 23yr old, and live in a town called Pratt, Kansas.
I'm planning on taking a look at a maruader here in a couple of days. I currently own a 2000 Chevy Tahoe LT, and was looking for something a bit newer, preferably another tahoe, when I came across a Marauder in a wheels for you magazine and was considering it, better mpg, and I miss the sound of those 4.6L. I used to own a 96 T-Bird with the 4.6 ohc, no mufflers, lowered 1.5in, and 18in wheels.
Now I'm ~6'5" and a bit of a bigger guy, pretty much the reason I got a tahoe, two door car was starting to feel small.
How roomy is a marauder? That's pretty much my main concern as to wether or not I'd feel stuffed in.
Here's a link to the one I'm planning on looking at.

A guy that does contract work for us lives in the town that this car is in. I asked him to stop by and take a look at it for me, and he said it is in immaculate condition. He says he remembers when the guy that owned it first got it. It's been a 1 owner car.

One test drive and you'll want to keep it. There is nothing out there that you and five of your friends can travel fast in more comfortable. Take it out on 400 and see what a Marauder is all about. Enjoy your test drive !:banana2:

I'm 6'3", 300+ lbs., the MM is VERY comfortable for me.
IMHO, it is one of the great road cars on the market. Big, roomy, comfortable, powerful, good-looking, and decent mileage for its size.
Word of advice: don't ponder, buy it; you won't regret it!

Welcome aboard.:D :welcome1:
There is plenty of room in the Marauder.
rodgl984;
From the single photo I can't tell if it is a 300A or a 300B version. There are
some significant differences and you do need to be aware of them.
The 300A has a full size spare, a remote gas fill door, and in dash clock and NO traction control.
The 300B has a donut spare, no remote gas door and the clock is in the radio, plus it has traction control.
There were a few combo vehicles, part A and Part B.
If the car is a 300B you cannot rotate the tires, the larger size must remain in the rear or the Traction control will inhibit the car from going over 40 MPH.
Another thing is to find out if the ECU has been reflashed. Many owners only did this mod and it's not obvious except in improved performance, but you have nothing to compare it to. See if the orginial owner reflashed the computer.
See if you can obtain service records as to oil, fuel filter, tranny fluid changes. This car has specific and important requirements, relating to oil type, weight and quantity.
We will be glad to help you understand this car fully if you can tell us what version it is.

Thanks for the info.
Didn't know about 300A/B. I'm going to see if the dealer will give me the previous owner's info so I could talk to him, and if they won't, maybe the contractor for us will know how to get ahold of him.
Here's a carfax on it, doesn't say much.

If you can get the VIN, sent it to RoyLPita, he can run an OASIS report on the car.

Look at the car again and observe if there is a traction control button on the dash molding bezel between the steering wheel and the drivers door, also the Gas cap.
The car fax was nice but didn't have any tech info.

I've got the VIN for it. RoyLPita a member on here? Nevermind, I seen he's already posted in this thread. I'll shoot him a message.

I haven't gotten to look at the vehicle in person yet. Was planning on going tomorrow when I finally have some time from work. I'll look for those buttons though.

Well I went and test drove it today. I'll admit, that thing can leave a hell of a black mark (or 2,3 maybe 4:burnout:) just don't tell the car lot. With a little of playing around with the seat, I felt like I was in it pretty comfortable. I didn't see a traction control button, had remote gas door, and full size spare. Taking some of the information I've gotten here, I'll have to say it is the 300A.
But basically they told me my Tahoe was worthless and said that they'd give me $3500 at the most. They said if I was real serious about it that they would drop about 3grand off the marauder, which would make it about 12grand.
I think for now, atleast for the next few months, I'll be better off keeping the Hoe and making some more payments on it so I won't be too bad upside down. Then get more serious about trading. And I told them that in a couple of months, if they still have it, I might come back and try to work something out.
So for now, Marauder's aren't out of the picture.
Thanks again to all for the help.

Lol yea if I'm lucky.
The salesman acted like he didn't know anything about these cars then I popped the hood and he didn't expect to see that engine in there. He rode with me the first time I took it out, and we were heading back to the dealer, so I had to ask him if he thought we should see what it could do. So I floored and he acted suprised. He let me and my buddy take it out a second time, I think he knew I was wanting to play a bit, and we took off down an old highway, it hit 120mph pretty quick. It's a fun car for sure.

I can't believe the dealer let u walk out, I guess our economy is soooooo great that he/they can't use your money! I'm pretty sure in a couple of days they'll call you back and try to work something out! Just remember your in control when it comes down to business!

They were starting to confuse me. As I was walking out, he was like "Let me show you this truck real quick." 2005 GMC Sierra Ext. Cab 2wd. It was a nice truck, then I asked him how much. He's says $18000. WTF? They just pretty much told me I couldn't afford a $15000 car, so they show me a $18000 truck. I don't understand car dealers.

Yeah why not hoist a couple more thousands from the young Lad...make sure if there's a trade, request paperwork to be done seperately, then continue from there on negotiations on the Marauder...confusion+eagerness =profit for them.

I had to take some pictures after the test drive "fun".
Here's the one of the first burnouts, you can see the one that didn't work out a little bit down the road.

I could see me getting in trouble with something like this.
For some of you that have never been to Kansas, not much here.
The new Razr phone doesn't take that bad of a picture either, doesn't look like it to me.
