I have an older guy wanting to use some men's Rolex wrist watches toward trade of my Yamaha V-Max. The one that caught my attention while on the phone with him last night is a gold 1954 Rolex. That's all I know for the moment, I really need to call him back to find out more, particularly what model the 1954 one is. He lives fairly close by so I'd be able to see the stuff in person if we ever get to that point. I thought he said maybe $2,500 wholesale, $3,500 retail for this particular watch. Any further help with this topic would be greatly appriciated to anyone who should respond to this post.

One word: appraisal.

There are a LOT of fakes out there. You need an expert to determine its value.

Don't trust any Rolex without a professional appraisal. I have seen $20 Rolexs that looked absolutely genuine and even came with the offical looking registration and warranty papers and even the Rolex box.

Tell him to go sell the watches and then give you the cash for the trade. :D

Unless you like the watches, then have them appraised, at a place of your choice.

I would take the watches and give up the Hamerya, if they are real.

Pop out the strap pins and write down the code and call a Rolex dealer and they will decode and give you a history on the watch just like running a VIN on a car.

Fake Rolex's are everywhere......I bought a "Yacht Master" in Nassau two years ago for $35.00 as a joke and it still runs and looks great??!!!

Tell him to sell his and give you $$$'s unless you want a high dollar watch.....:confused:

I smell BS. If it is worth any money, he can turn it into cash himself then give you the cash.
