Well finnally got the chip guess i was the guinnie pig on the program? at Super-Chips on my 300b MM.... I am learning how to use it and playing with program adjustment to suit my needs. One user said it lowered his start up rpm i would love to figure this out really do not like it going to 2k rpm at start up! Any one know on this?

are you refering to a chip or the tuner?

I'd like to know what you are using. When I spoke to Jerry, he was working on something that will become available through a company that already makes chips. It will allow the user to access all the EEC calibrations, but I don't think this is ready yet. Anyway, there must be a cold start counter or clock that controls start up RPM. The problm is, however, that you will not be able to throttle the engine until the volume of air in the intake manifold is initially consumed. At this point, you will get a strong vacuum signal to the throttle body, but until you do and immediately after you first fire the engine, you basically cannot control the engine RPMs with the throttle. So you are left with the cold start fuel calibrations as the only means of control. You will have to find the cold start engine fueling calibration and cut the amount of fuel given to the engine on initial start up. This becomes a balancing act where you try to govern the engin RPM, yet allow the engine to start and run cleanly.

MitchB:

Thank you! I've been WAITING for an explanation like that... :D

Keep in touch with "The Man" about his DIY programmer...and let us know when/where/how much etc...
