He obviously doesn't drive in busy traffic much. Hanging back anywhere I drive would get you cut off repeatedly by 14 cars and you'd end up tailgating no matter what you do.
I thought repeatedly shutting the engine off and restarting was a bad thing to do as far as wear goes.

Yeah, as far as coasting with an auto, shutting the engine off, etc, I don't buy it. I try to plan my trips to be efficient, but other than that, I am not going to drive like an old lady to save a few bucks on gas. I need some fun in my life, and it's worth paying for (why did that come out sounding so wrong?)

Good stuff, I don't cut the engine off unless there is a frieght train.
I try all the other things though, I got 297.6 mi on 16.44 gal last tank.
I had a little highway (75mi.) comming back from Byron.

Why is a guy driving a hybrid trying to make his car more efficient? Driving 25 in a 40 is against the law isnt? I have saw on the news lately, that they are basically going with these high ass prices and basically are giving us ways to deal with it. How about we take some measures to bring the prices down?!:mad2:
But like another post on here...I put gas in the MM drive it daily and I will not let gas prices be added to the stress of my world.

I think it's bs. Is the little amount you save in gas worth the added wear and tear on your car?
My older brother travels to NY twice a week, a 3 hour drive, and averages 29mpg in his marauder.

I thought he was bs-ing, but on a round trip to Florida, from Massachusetts, he averaged 26-27. He drives like a maniac, i don't know how he does it.

My parents achieved 29.5mpg in their 03 GM about a year ago going to buffalo new york. Granted its a 2V but its very possible.
