anybody know anything about this car?
Flood cars are the worst ones to buy! They develop long term electrical problems and have a habit of stinking. The only thing that car is good for is making a race car out of it.

My father bought a grand marquis that was a flood title and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it! It was a great reliable car that never had a problem and smelt great! I loved the car! I am sure it is fine unless it was severe flood damage which I doubt

I spent 40 years in the body shop business and have to say your dad is a lucky man on his car. That is not what happens with a flood car. Buyer beware! :(

Wow that car is in great shape besides the solid brown rotors, but thats obvious.
Really sucks that its a low mileage 04. Jeremy good luck in winning it, if you are stripping it all out, and selling off interior pieces, (and it dont smell ;) ) keep me on the list for the bottom of the back seat!

IMO the current bid of $4k is starting to get alittle high for a car that does not run. Even if it is a MM.

Looks like state line auto sales to me. They deal with only salvage and repairable vehicles. They get a LOT of flood vehicles, and most are completely stripped and cleaned before sale.
Linders isn't that nice...haha.
If i had the money, i would buy it.

Hey look!!! It has an extended warranty.
Only if the prior owner signs it over to you and you pay the transfer fee, but that's NOT going to happen once the title is branded and all warranties except emissions are TERMINATED !

I have never had to show a title to a car for warranty work, the factory bumper to bumper stays in place.
You would have to locate the previous owner, talk them into letting you pay the $50 for the transfer, then all the planets would be in alignment.

This car is back on E-bay due to a non-paying bidder.
Just a few ways a car can end up with a Flood title without being totaly submerged is the industry standard that says whenever the water goes over the door sills and the insurance totals it. This is why you see a lot of them with the power seats not working (like this one).
The other way is driving thru deep water a little too fast.On MM and panthers the front end will push a wall of water up in front of the grille over the headlights, even when the water is not that deep. The air cleaner snorkel is behind the left headlight, but it is below it. The air intake picks up water, the engine sucks in a small amount and when it goes in the cylinders, instant bent rods and the car dies and water comes over the door sills. The engine will spin over, but not fire and the oil will be like new. The insurance company totals it due to engine replacement cost.
On trucks and cars, it comes when people launch a boat and go a bit too deep. The water over the exhaust at idle, kills the engine and the vehicle rolls back a little more into the water. It goes up into the trunk, rear floors and inside the rear axle. Again a total loss due to water.
I have heard on convertibles if they get left out in a very heavy rain with the top down, they get totaled for water damage, and you end up with a flood title.
Sooo, its really buyer beware because some of these remarketing companies buy them, detail the smell out as best as possible, replace the carpet and sell them.
