I have been watching George Carlin since about 1965 when he did his "Hippy Dippy Weatherman" on the John Davidson Show. :D Lots of his stuff is funny because it makes perfect sense .... like his routine on the differences between Baseball and Football.

I cut watching him as he went through is "crude" period in competition with Richard Pryor.

His point about the Earth makes perfect sense too in the fact that 200 years of Industrial growth over the 4.5 Billion age of the planet equates to just a little under 112 seconds in the lifespan of an 80 year old man. That's not enough time to smoke 1/2 a cigarette, eat a whole cheeseburger or drink one beer. How much damage could that cause in lifespan of that 80 year old. Not much, I suspect.

The frightening part in his skit is that the Earth may shake us off as it has done with countless other species.... Moreover, I tend to believe that will be the case. :( Hopefully this won't happen for another 500, 1000 or 5000 years --- but it does kinda sound likely to me.

He was talking about the AIDS Virus, y'know. If one of those "C" types mutates to the point that it can be transmitted as an airborn infection, like the one in the animal facility in Reston, VA did that took out the Simeon colony, we're goners ......all of us .....just like that.
