“I don’t have any beliefs or allegiances. I don’t believe in this country, I don’t believe in religion, or a god, and I don’t believe in all these man-made institutional ideas,” he told Reuters in a 2001 interview.
Wow. I guess it's part of getting old - seeing all the entertainers I grew up with dying off.
The great majority of us grew up here in the US with some type of religious upbringing and the idea that you either live right and go to heaven, or you live wrong and go to hell. Carlin was staunchly against religion.
Wonder if he's changed his mind about anything now?

Thank you for your seven dirty words, George ... your "comedy" always made me think and it was an honor and privilege to have seen you live 4 times in your life and to have met you personally once ...

His last bit took on the tree huggers, posted here, a few days ago......I wonder if they put out a "contract" on him?
Like Marauder 386 said: like him, or not, he always made me think, and most times agree. .....unless it was my ox that was getting gored.

R.I.P. George. :( He was always aware of "where the line was" and he made sure that he crossed it. Nothing was safe. :)

Most of the time it truly did not matter whose ox was being gored, George was possibly the funniest comedian EVER. I spent a large part of my life laughing with him. He will be missed. R.I.P. George. We loved ya!

May he rest in peace on Joe Pesci's roof.
Love him or hate him, he always was good at making people think.

The "Hippy-dippy Weather Man"
"It's three o'clock on the east coast; Two central; one mountain; and 11:42 on the west coast"
"A freak accident on the freeway today. Three freaks injured after smoking marijuana while driving off the on ramp."
"I don't believe in our political system anymore. You really have no choice when voting so I don't vote. Corporate America got it all sewed up! The military-industrial complex runs everything and there's nothing you can do about it!"

GC is my favorite comedian. And THAT is saying a lot. I never got a chance to see him live, but I have just about everything her release, and sone stuff he didn't ;)
He did his best, to find the line, and gracefull squat on it! He had an issue with anything he did not believe in. Sounds familiar :D
RIP George.

I saw him live in 1995.
His Maltese Moe (with one ball) liked to hump the cat. He used that pic of this at the end of his "Doing It Again" HBO special.
This is one of my favorite quotes from "Carlin on Campus":
"Got into an arguement with my Rice Crispies. I distinctly heard "Snap, Crackle, F--- him!!!"
