:help:My AC will last me about 4 to 5 weeks before it has to be recharged.I took it to a couple of mechanics but said the leak is so small they can't find it.Any hints what could be the problem:help:

Take it to a better mechanic
Seriously a good mechanic should be able to check for leaks with a black light. I believe that the Ford does put the dye into the system when car is assembled. For the system to leak down over 4-5 weeks I'm surprised it's hard to find unless the leak is the evaporator.
Hope you get it fixed soon, I know I couldn't live without it.

Don't they have detectors that can detect minute amounts of R134?
Even if Ford didn't put a tracer dye into the car at the factory, a good AC man would add some and check with a black light.
I have to agree with larryo's first sentence.
If it leaks enough to hurt performance in 4-5 weeks, that should be large enough to find. A small leak is one that takes a whole year or so to leak out enough to reduce performance.

I have to agree with the other two posts as well. That's quite a major leak for it to be gone in a few weeks. Abosolutely, try a different shop. The way to find leaks is to put tracer dye in the system. I think mechanics should do that anytime a system is recharged. If there's ever an issue with the AC in the future, it makes the problem easy to find. Based on past experience, Ford vehicles will generaly tend to leak at the charge ports, the quick couplers, and sometimes at the low or high pressire cut off switches. But there's no point in throwing parts at it. My suggestion would be to have dye placed into the AC system and recharged. Once this leaks out, then your mechanic will have the answers s/he needs.
Just something to share.... I'm not suggesting for a moment that this is your problem, but it's a unique situation I'd like to share. The refrigerant in my old Thunderbird kept leaking out. After several rounds of trying to troubleshoot over three summers, it turns out that some bozo pried against the AC compressor and cracked it! Not an easy leak to find!

I'll bet it is your condenser...on the bottom corner...where it butts up to the air dam...

Time for you to replace your condensor, and then do the gutter guard mod. :D
