It is pretty funny how we have only had $4 gas for a few months and everyone is selling. My compromise was buying a crap under $2000 car that gets 10 mpg better than the Marauder did, both city and highway. If gas prices stabilize or go down, I can drive the Marauder more. If not, it's still a great road trip/weekend fun car. You're right that compared to SUV's that everyone is still driving 20 mph over the speedlimit with, the MM at 20 mpg highway is better.

I want a Marauder to drive instead of my truck! Which is why I joined over here, to learn more about them and maybe find one in the classifieds.

Coming back from Cleveland, I ran between 40 and 115 MPH with several WOT's here and there hauling 2 passengers and a trunkload of gear and averaged 22.3 MPG.

I don't need a Hybrid.

The guy who painted my front bumper was shocked when I told him that I can get up to 24mpg. All that with 240,000 miles on the clock.:D

Wow .... you've run more than 10,000 gallons of gas through your MM. At today's prices thats about $5K more in gas cost than what the car listed for new.

The Marauder IS my idea of going green and that's as far as I go 'til the Hollywood crowd and the global warming alarmists ground their jets.

Now, I love my F250 but I'm lucky to see 11 mpg with the V10. A Marauder would look awful good sitting next to it. It would almost pay for itself and it will be a hell of a lot of fun while getting twice the mileage. Still looking for the right one but I'll have it soon enough.

"Wow you must be getting 8 mpg with that big azz car"

Thats when i punch them in their head and scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".

I humor people by saying i get over 27 on the highway in my Merc, and over 29.5 in my mustang GT. And yes, the gt will get over 18 around town. And oh yes, its alot more fun than your prius...Pompus jackass

I just came back from a road trip to SC w/ my buddies. We averaged 23.5 MPG doing between 68 and 72 Mph with 3 passengers and a trunk full of luggage and beer. I think that is pretty damn awesome considering that I have 4.10's. My friends were very impressed and kept reminding me how awesome my car is. THat was even before I let one of them drive it!

I've never gone over 21mpg and thats when she was almost new. And thats about 80% highway and going as easy as i can. Is it possible that i could have picked 1 or 2 mpg with the trilogy or am i on crack? It seems that it is going a little farther on fuel in the city now, i only know this because my recent ticket has chilled me out a bit. I haven't yet calculated.

This link to the video works better.

The comments just go on and on and on, it is like having many many T's.

"Driving the Prius with the pedal to the metal (probably around 100 mph, a speed at which 99.99% of Priuses will never go - the exception is Al Gore Jr. who got caught doing over 100 mph) is taking away almost everything that makes the car fuel efficient. At that speed, electric motors don't help, regenerative braking doesn't help, and the stop-start anti-idling feature is useless. Only the low drag coefficient and low rolling-resistance tires are of use, but that is more than offset by the small 1.5 liter gasoline engine that has to hit RPMs way above its efficiency sweet spot.

On the BMW side, the M3 was designed to be driven fast on the German autobahns and its engine certainly wasn't breaking a sweat trying to keep up with the Prius."

Like the video said - it's all about how you drive it. The video wasn't biased like treehugger claims. The Prius is designed for slower speeds. The M3 is not. Drive the M3 like a normal human, and you get fuel economy on par with a Prius. The same with a Marauder. It's meant for highway driving, and flooring it on on/off ramps. A Marauder couldn't compete with a Smart car or Prius in city limits, but get them out on the highway and the Marauder or M3 rules.

I guess they just don't get the guys on 'Top Gear'. Hammond sure has nice teeth.

Like I've said time and again, I don't know how you guys get these incredible MPG figures with your Marauders. I get, I think about 8-10 MPG city (hey, it's L.A., it's ALL city). I just filled the Marauder up yesterday. Premium is $4.99 a gallon here in Los Angeles. $4.99 A GALLON!!! Wait, $4.99 and 9/10ths! And it's only 91-octane to boot! Why don't they quit splitting hairs, and just call if five bucks already? It costs me $25 to drive it to and from work each day. My 3.9-liter Ford Freestar still only gets about 15 MPG, and that's IF, I drive it like an old frickkin' lady. I even tried evey fuel-saving technique I know . . . turning the engine off at lights, killing it down hills, taking turns without braking, and I STILL only got 17 MPG! At least it runs on regular, which is ONLY $4.69 a gallon here. C'est la vie . . .

I get 17-18mpg city and approx 22-24mpg highway. This was before I got the 4.10s installed yesterday, have to give it a few weeks to tell, plus I need the tune done to correct the gear ratio.
