Great! Where are you going to be stationed? Try for Lake Michigan as its pretty nice up here as long as you do not mind the snow in the winter.

Coast guard is always good as long as you like the sea.

My relatives downunder where part of the air sea rescue for many years. Wild stories and even a few mysteries.

Keep a look out for UFO's.

Well... if they have any questions tell them to ask. It will be tough and they will hate it but it's well worth it.

I am a reservist so I am stationed close to home... STA Port Canaveral, FL I will be doing Law Enforcement and NASA waterway Security.

Right now I am a non-rate... Fireman (E-3)... but I go to "A" school in Oct. I will be an MK3 (Machinery Technician 3rd Class Petty Officer) in Feb.

Congratulations, and thanks for Serving!
My sister retired from the CG a few years back, with stints in HI, FL, and Alaska. Never even served on a ship! She got great benefits, a "free" college education, and is living happily ever after in Ketchikan, Aalaska!

All the UFOs are in your attic with your squirrels, your polls, and you imaginary freinds...
Oh, and Motorhead 350 is probably up there too.

PCAN. Ahh memories of the Hayes, Waters, Redstone, Vanguard, Range Sentinal...and the gentlemen's clubs at Coco beach. :D

Basic training for the Coast Guard... what do they do teach you how to wade back to shore if the boat sinks?

j/k

Thanks for your service to the country and I wish you a successful and safe tour.
