I upgraded the OEM Head Lamp Bulbs with some Haligen-Blue Looking Bulbs from Pep Boys, and asked my Dealer to install them. Unfortunately, the Tech snapped a couple of the Tabs off from the Wiring Harness Socket, installed the Left Bulb Up Side Down, and siliconed them in. Finally, the Dealer agreed to replace them for me at no cost, so I moved on up to Sylvania's "Silver Star" (#9007 ST) High Performance Halogen Bulbs. I had them adjust the Fog Lamps Upward, so that the Low Beams could be kept High enough that I won't overdrive them at Highway Speeds, and now there is no longer any "Dead Space" between the Flood's Beam stops, and the Low Beam starts.

The Sylvania Silver Star High Performance Halogens really put out more Light, and in my own personal opinion we need all that we can get, for our "Night Riders".

Have your Dealer replace your Bulb Sockets with Extra H. D. ones, so that the increased Watts and Heat of these Upgrades won't try and melt them. These Silver Stars provide 1000 / 1350 + / - 15%, with Maximum Wattage of 60/70, and are available in a J578 White Color. Make sure that the Final Adjustments are made with the Engine Running, to assure that the Automatic Rear Shocks lift the Rear End to it's normal Operational (Driving) Height, for the proper Head Lamp Illumination Angle.

Let your Head Lamps be all that they Can be, at increased Highway Speeds!

:p ;)

reviving an old thread.
I put in Sylvania Xtravisions and they looked and preformed almost exactly like the OEM bulb which is made by Sylvania. Went out today and bought the Sylvania SilverStar 9007's. Well worth the money IMHO. Light output is definitely brighter and much whiter. They are safe to use with exsisting wiring and there is currently a $ 10 rebate for the pair, good til 6/03. I paid $19.95 each so the rebate puts them at $30 for the pair. $30 well spent. Happy Motoring.......and oh yeah.....they are legal in all states.

I picked up the Sylvania Silverstars at the LA auto Show($24 ea...no mention of a rebate) and I like what I see from inside the car. Haven't seen them from outside the car yet. Most of the 'extreme white' bulbs look blue when off and kinda greenish blue when on. Remember any blue light anywhere on your car is very illegal(unless your a LEO)in California anyway.......:rasta:

so is putting BMW badge on your AMERICAN car:flamer:
