61 is the winner:banana2: The brakes back then where not the greatest but the car sure pulls nice with the way the owner has it set-up.
Also had a chance to take this the Manitoulin Island last weekend. What a cruiser. I have the old car bug now:)

I see it has what looks like a 4 speed. What motor is in it. These were nice looking cars and were a blast back in the day. The hot ones around here had 301 cubic inch motors which were 283s with a 327 crank. Brings back a lot of good times!

Check the plate for info on the car:)
Guess what the meaning of the plate is?

I always wanted one of these! Had a chance to drive a '63 with a 4bbl. and a Powerglide, lots of low-end torque; but would would love a shot at a 4 speed car.
IMO, the '61's are the best looking due to the bubble top, but any early '60's Impala is a good looking car.
Ok if you want to try a little trivia what was the cool 61 Ford named?

I want the Continental up there more than the Chevy. Did it have the 460 in it ? ;) 61-67 Continental with the suicide doors are some of the best looking cars on the exterior, interior is a whole different story.

Yep, the dead give-away for me is the deep "V" on the rear trunk lid. In 1962 it transition to a shallow "V" that went across the entire back. I drove a '62 Chevy Bel Air station wagon for awhile. No power steering and no power brakes. Parallel parking was considered "aerobics" back then. ;)

No power brakes or steering. Scared me when I had to stop for the first time:eek:

The Lincoln looks like a 68 Continental to me (might be a 67). 68s still had the suicide doors. They also had 460s. I know because my Grandmother bought a 68 Continental new and until last year it was still in the family. I spent many hours behind the wheel of that beast. As of last year, it still had the original vinyl top that looked brand new. The speedometer looked kind of like a horizontal old style thermometer. The tube seemed to fill up from the left as the car increased speed. I loved that car.

the spedo is something else! It even had the original 8 track:) Was great to drive such a beast in Northern Ontario.
