I see a high mileage $10k MM, is something special about it? The black ones should have the premium price tag!

Don't worry give it another year you'll be able to buy a blue for $5k.

We'll probably level out in the $4-5k range pretty soon, like a year or two. Depreciation rules when you're buying!

CV's do the same thing, Marauders may fare a bit better, but will still suffer the same. I noticed CV's drop very quickly, but then level out.

For instance, a good shape CV in the current body style, back to '98, even with 200k on the clock, will still be $3k if in good shape. CV's hold their value at the bottom of the curve. The drop like a stone the first few years but level out above most other cars for some reason.

Hopefully Marauders will upswing after that point.

CV's dropped like a rock even in a great market. It's a purpose built fleet car that just happens to also be available to the public. I was looking at 2003 CV sports w/ almost no miles for $10k when I bought my MM in January of 2007. They were almost HALF the price. The MM at least has exceptional power, and collectibility. Yeah the CV holds its value at the bottom of the curve due to dependibility, and commodity as a workhorse car. That's about it. If MM's go too far down in value I'm going to be tempted to get another one. Maybe a silver this time, since black is so damn hard to keep clean.

+1 on the silver birch, but it has to be just right, dark charcoal interior, heated seats and a moon roof

I should have bought the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon back in '04. Seen prices on those lately?

Stupid me. I thought buying a final model year, limited production car, in an uncommon color would have given me better resale than a Jeep. :mad2:

It did until premium went to $4.50 a gallon. People buying Jeeps don't know what lousy MPG they get. Its usually a surprise

Parents have a 2004 Grand Cherokee with the I-6, it gets 15mpg, best I've ever gotten driving it on the highway was 16.9. OUCH!
