Motivation from another board made me think of this question: I wonder what the Marauder guys and gals were doing back in the 80's?

Or better yet, what do you fondly remember from that time period.

Here's a link to Jar your memory:

Me, I was buzzing around in a 71 440 Cuda. I was racing from light to light multiple times on Friday nights. That's politically incorrect now, but back then that's how we started the weekend party. Yeah, you couldn't tell us much back then. And the Fro I used to have, AH, the memories.

Well I certainly wasn't doing that.

I was driving around in our 78 Lebaron or 66 Mustang, later in the 80's we picked up my 86 Mustang 'cobra'.

Mind you it was a time of tight jeans, and those came back so who knows.

While at 38, I'm not an old fart. I still remember the 80's. Would relive it all over again if I could.

Was single and away from home about 300 days a year:)

I used to cruise Hempstead Turnpike here on Long Island in my '67 340 Dart GT, or my '85 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. If not there it was at Nathans in Oceanside with all my Mopar buddies. We used to take up from 5-10 spaces in a row.

Now your lucky to see a muscle car once a month :bigcry:

80's? Good lord, man, how does that qualify you as an OF?

If you asked about the 60's (most of which happened in the 70's) there would be some good stories offered from this direction. ;)

A friend had a Shelby Charger and it was black with silver stripes. I think it was an '85 or '86.

Yep, what Charlie said, in the early 80's raising kids, no money for car toys. Then in the later 80's paying child support, even less money for any toys.
However, I met my girlfriend - to be wife, in 1988, 20 years later we are still together. So I guess the 80's were good after all.

Started off my Ford days in an 83 GT (black, t-tops and no A/C - talk about a 'hot' ride in the summer!), learned how to bracket race, then picked up my SVO Mustang and switched to the roadcourse. But, yeah, the days of seeing groups of cars together just to 'hang' in downtown T.O. seem to be long gone. Although the 'Shwa' where I am now is a GM town, I've seen 3 Marauders in the area, so at least I'm not alone!

I remember that song! Damn that was a long time ago.

Fond memories of the 80's?

Fast cars,
Fast women,
Drag racing,
Cruisin' and
being ran off by the Police.

Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I was a radio DJ. New Wave, punk and early industrial.
I knew Trent Reznor when he released 'Pretty hate Machine' and over beers, I listend to Alan Jorgenson tell me about how his band tell me the story of Ministry's flop from pop to industrial. I took Expose roller skating before one of their shows and I got to know the Indigo Girls and met Michael Stipe when he made a cameo at a tiny little impromptu acoustic show. I hung out with countless small bands (probly like Dom's). It was a blast.
On the side I DJ'd 'Freestyle' music at a skating rink.
80's for me were music music and more music. Remembering and playing that music got me into car stereo and that got me into cars.
One could say, the 80's are responsible for me being RIGHT HERE on this board!!!!

I have been following him a lot longer than that! The 80s brought me my first business, Second wife and she still lets me hang around! The one and only kid who just finished collage. 65 Malibu SS convertible with a 331 ci motor, roller cam and a 4 speed. I also remember the poor economy in the 80s and it was not pretty then. :)

Frank Zappa! The King of Rock 'n Roll! Gone but not forgotton. He was before my time but that didn't stop a self described "old hippy" I used to work with from turning me onto him. He gave me my first Zappa album, 'Burnt weenie sandwich' which is still one of my favorites. Hot Rats is another favorite album.

Currently I've got 40+ CD's, and the DVD Baby snakes.

I'm 36 and do remember the 80's. It's the 90's I have trouble remembering due to the vast quantities of Miller High Life I was prone to drinking.

....."Cuz when I was a little baby boy, my momma gave me a brand new toy.....Two turntables with a mike......" That brought back lots of memories.;) That song was one of my favorites. :D I was terrorizing the public streets on my 1981 Kawasaki GPZ 1100 motorcycle, and nobody was able to catch me. And the women I had all around me back then....WOW!!! I also had this big black 1970 Cadillac with a 472 engine under the hood that would smoke the tires from a dead punch. One of my girl friends called it "The Bat Mobile" and it must have had a history behind it, cuz there was a bullet hole in the driver's side door panel, along with a big ole blood stain on the rug. Looked like the driver got shot from the inside of the car, cuz there was also a nipple shaped dent on the outside of that door from the inside out, where the bullet didn't quite make it all the way through. Wish I could bring those days back. Thanks for that trip down memory lane. :)
