Next New England Party

I would like to propose the next New England Marauder party! Let's say Wed., August 6, 2008 at the New England Dragway in Epping, NH. This should give everyone plenty of time to prepare (brake jobs, work schedules, Mach 1 driver training, or whatever else is holding you back from some good old fashioned fun). I'll take on any comers for a nice order of track fries. The date also has a special meaning. Wed. nights at Epping sometimes seem to bring the rice out. Now what better night to whip up on some Honduhs, Toytoters, and the like than the 63rd aniversary of Hiroshima. That's right, lets let them have it again. They may win a few battles, but I'm pretty sure we can scare the bejezus out of most of them. No whining, no excuses, just be there. I will.

Well we seem to have 4 yeses, 2 maybers, and one no (working is a viable excuse in my book). That seems to leave 24 people (who are at least as close as me to the track) with the proverbial stick implanted in their sphincters! Let's start, in no particular order, just the way I pulled them off the sound off thread.Davesvt2000 and Hot-rauder, both from Leominster. I'll be driving through Leominster on my way to the track if you guys don't know the way. I go in via rte 13. Next, Adam 12 who may not have a Marauder. So what? Larry Durham, whom I know, may have a viable excuse. bob6364 from CT? Quahog, Courtmarshall, Smoke, mm.owner, OldMarauderDrvr? You guys scared? ChiefUnlimited may be too far away. Can't think of an excuse for formulaMarauder, erainsford or BigCarBigGuy though. Bob and Mary have 2 Marauders, including a supercharged one. Eric-Blk2004, buttsandwich, and wrightroll, how about you guys? Mike5959, we'd welcome a sister platform. NIGHTHAWK, DerekWP, come on down, and John F. Russo, another gentleman with whom I'm aquainted, I'll give him a free pass also. What's holding you folks back? Fear? Of what? The worst that can happen is you go careening out of control at the big end and kill yourself in some painful and horrendous manner. Anything other than that is a bonus. Break the car? Get it fixed. Ask John "TooManyFords" what happens when things break when there's fellow racers and Marauder folks around. Fear of losing? I'll bet I've been beat hundreds of times. It don't hurt. I see kill stories posted here, well now it's time to "man up." Let's see what you've got. Besides, this is about the most fun most of you will have all summer.

i simply cant afford to take work off... and the Mach1 will most likely not be there, she doesnt have interst in running her car. she says she likes it the way it is and doesnt want/need to run it. she doesnt care how fast it does the quarter mile, it throws you back and roasts threw 3 gears.... that makes her happy enough

I believe the helmet has to have a snell rating of 85 but I'm not sure?? And I Think its more like $30 to get in.

guys - NED requires helmets if you run under 14 seconds. So any 13s cars need helments. You also need a battery tie down - they inspect all cars to ensure the battery is secure. Seat belts have to work - given. You must wear your seat belts, windows closed, parking lights on, no AC. The usual stuff.

Last few years it was 10 to watch 20 to race. To race you need whats above and LONG PANTS. no shorts no sandals. They are serious on this - so dress right. My friend showed up in shorts and we had to change in the bathroom. No passangers for cars faster then 13.

If you want to race each other be prepared to wait or ask the lane guy where to stage. It moves fast except for when the bikes show up or they race atvs or the juniors down the track.

Thats all I can think about for NED right now...

Oh and if anyone is below 12 you need a cage...

Oh and I just called DEZ he is 90% its a manifold gasket leak - sounds comes from the same spot almost but trickier to see outside of the car and not under the hood. He is confident its not from the chain/heads.

I remember going to an import war drag show and a single turbo supra was the fastest by far but kept having to slam on the brakes and trap at around 11 or 12 to continue. He made it to the semi finals and slamed o the brakes and squeked a win. In the finals he got disqualified - he ran a I want to say low 11 or high 10 or so to "win" against one hella fast Rx7.

I doubt anyone here goes to those, but it is nice to see the girls that attend. All the muscle car ones are a little light on that factor...but they are just paid models so whatever lol.

Mandatory for cars quicker than 14.000. I'll have one you can use if needed. It's not a bad idea to get one. The less than ideal weather conditions should keep me slower than 14.000.

He likes to run for fun but he doesnt waste his time either. He ran 13.1 with crap 60 foot and medicore shifting and BEFORE his new tune. A mini runs like a 15 lol it beats a Marauder! LOL I think the Mini would give ME a run for the money!

He would love to run a SC Marauder he loves my car. Says its a beast just needs to either bulk up or lose weight!

It scares him on the highway when it gettings going - he has never seen a big car move like that. But his is still faster.

I want to run it - I will be going Aug 29th I am going to get my bro to go too.

His car came back last night - if anyone cares he made 270whp and 277wtq.

He hits full HP/TQ at 4k and holds until 6.5k. He has hit the ceiling on a non bulit motor and his vf39 and current fuel setup.

It is friggin fast! I think 12.2 would do him in - he is hoping for 12.9x or lower.

I made about 4 passes, one I baked them thru first and ran 12.6
The others, not so bad- 12.3 , 12.3 and and my last run 12.2

Got to work out a few more kinks and should do better next time..

It was a blast, everyone is cool there, checkn out all teh rides and anyone will race you.

???? No parties, ex-girlfriends, hangovers, or other excuses? Next Wed is out for me, but Sept. 3 works good for me. The 10th is probably good too. I'll have some vids in a day or 2, my cd reader is out in my laptop, I'll have to dig out the spare computer. My car wasn't quite right last night, 14.3x was my best. Track prep was poor, and I may have a few issues with my current tunes. I did run big mph all night, averaged 99.4, but I'm down .3 to .5 on the et's. Cut good enough lights to outrun some faster cars though, including a GTO. Had a real blast despite the crowd and lack of NE Marauders. Time for a new thread.
