I forgot to mention this along with my last post. I have "spots" if you will on the clear plastic of the shifter(you know P,R,N,D.....) and the in dash clock. Bought it like this, looks like stains from a cleaning solvent or something. I cant get them out. I tried that plastic cleaner from Miguiars with no luck. Any ideas? If not, anyone know where I can possibly get replacement pieces? Thanks.

Mine turned dull after cleaning too.
The replacement chrome bezel looks sharp also.
The GMQ we have, with the chrome has not done this, still looks like new.

I have the same problem, also some peeling of the clearcoat (or whatever it is) on the gray console cover and armrests.

Another pain in the rear. I pulled the whole console apart to see if the spots where underneath and they obviously were not. I'll keep trying I guess. Thanks guys.

The dark gray is peeling on parts of my trim too. I was thinking about peeling it off and painting them black or gray again with this paint my friend used on the inside of his car. Of course his was bright yellow.

The reason you cant remove the spots is that you must take the plastic out of the housings to give them a good rub (elbow grease) try crest tooth paste and a clean microfiber cloth dampened with water. Rub and rub and rub some more and they will come right out...

Interesting Richy04. I'm going to take you up on that. On my way outside to wash it now. Let you know. You other guys, both my Marauders peeled. Both I had to replace the plastic housing that holds cig. lighter and gauges due to peeling. God for bid a woman should drive it and put her purse on the pass. side floor and rub a little on the housing. Paint peels right off. Both my Marauders where owned by married couples and thats exactly what they said happened. Pulled my center console and all door switch housings and repainted recently. Came out great. Duplicolor makes a Charcoal interior paint that looks real close to ours from what I'm told. Believe it or not, I used a metal Charcoal paint on my pieces with a slight hint of gloss. Hit the pieces with a little sandpaper, couple coats of this paint, looks better than how it came from the factory, in fact this is how it should have been in my opinion. I'm going to post pics for you guys to see!

How did you make out? Did the toothpaste work for you?
BTW, dont use sand paper.. You will lose the pebble grain in the original part and it will look resprayed, take the time to strip it and reshoot it. The duplicolor works great but give it a hint of clear for the proper sheen of the original part. Its just slightly lighter.. I am going to get the Ford Paint this week and do the dash panel edges over. They seem to flake as well..
