:mad2:Okay so about two weeks ago we took my wife's MM up to get the 90k mile inspection and service. We dropped the car off on Thursday evening so they could have it on Friday morning. They kept it until Monday morning before starting on it. During this service it was decided she needed new front tires and an alignment. The stock tires had to be ordered and would not be in for ... another two days. So they keep it for the needed two days. We get it back and drive it home. Almost immediately we notice it was driving like crap and it seeemed there was something wrong with the front end. (did I mention that during the short time we had the car back the damn A/C quit? Well it did.)

We take it back in. Service manager says well we'll need it for 2 MORE DAYS. :mad2: Finally they decide its a bad front tire. They ordered a new tire, two more days. We get the car back and drive it home. Get out at home and she says there is something wrong with the car. It's still steering wrong and while driving straight the wheel is turned about 45 degrees to the right. I take it for a spin. :mad2:. One trip down the road and I am furious.

Go back to the dealership today and talk to the service manager. Explain to him the situation. He checks the car out and tells me that he doesn't really see the problem. I then have to take this A$$hat for a drive and show him what the car is doing. After that he decides that it needs to be put back on the alignment rack. (NO $H*T!!) Well today is Friday, and theres no getting it in today, so guess what I have to drop the damn thing off Monday morning so they can keep it all day again. WTF??:censor::censor: I am so mad I can hardly breathe.

Just had to vent. I hate that dealership but the wife like it because its close and she bought her first car there. Well they suck.

You should have told them to overnight the new tire to replace the bad one and now at this point you should be asking for a rental for their f*** up... I would flip out on them and make sure that I do it in the showroom with lots of customers around. Sound like they have some *SHINY* people working there... I would be furious!!!

AND REPAIR THE A/C FOR FREE!!!!:argue:

Just my $0.02

You should take it to a new place and have it fixed right. Some place that has been around has their own name on their business and relies on good word of mouth advertising.

Then, don't go back to the dealership.

Your wife will understand when the car is fixed on the same day you take it in and works properly.

And after the fix what they screwed up, I'd find another place to work on your car (if you can talk your wife into it).
Also, make sure they didnt put little dent's scratches in the rims when they did the alignment.
Hope it works out.

The A/C repair was under warranty. It needed charged is all. I've tried being less than accepting with these people and they just blow you off. Its a large dealership and customer service is somewhat lacking. We will not be going back there once we get the car fixed this last time. THe part that really peeved me was when a salesman started trying to pimp me a new car. My blood pressure was peaked this afternoon.

This is also the same dealership that wanted to give me $5000 in trade in value on a 2004 fully loaded Ford Ranger, off road package, 4x4, 4.0 liter V6 with 25k miles on it in 2005. I kept that truck pristeen and never rough handled it. I owed $6k on it, no way was I getting bent over like that. I ended up trading it to another dealership on my MM and got $11,500 in trade.

Did I mention they suck? Becuase they do.

It's unfortunet that some dealers still work that way. It makes it harder on the GOOD dealerships out there. During my time working in dealerships you try all you can to prevent a situation like that from happening. Sometimes you can't stop it from occuring, but apologize and do all you can to make it up to the customer.

You didn't mention if this was the first bad visit or part of a string of bad visits to this dealer. Either way you are completely justified in being :mad2:. Just the fact that you were having all that service work done they should do all they can to make it right, and keep you as a customer.

Hopefully they just knocked loose a connector for the A/C so it'll be an easy fix.

Good Luck, and let us know what happens

THis is a whole string of bad service there. I cannot stand this dealership but she likes them. Hopefully she will see the light after the shoddy treatment we have received. Usually the problems we have had were with my car, not hers so it wasn't that big of a deal to her. Now it's her car so we'll see...

I'd be finding a new place to get services done.

They blew it all around -- they busted the initial appointment for Friday and kept it over the weekend. They busted the initial work and didn't order the tires on time. Then they screwed up the alignment. On top of all of this, you were deprived of the use of your car for nearly a week with no rental even offered. Lemme guess -- the total bill was about $800.00 give or take. That seems to be the magic number these days. Next time take it to Barnum & Bailey Quick Fix and let the clowns work on it. ;)

And your wife likes these guys?? ....... WHY??

I can understand your being upset at the dealership, I just got mine out after a week, I had it towed in on monday, ( they didn't know it was comming) The estimate including towing was $331 plus $125 tow, plus tax, and I paid $459, so they came in under the estimate, I am more than satisfied with my dealership. My mech placed 2nd in a national exam by Ford.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I had a lot of bad experiences with GM dealerships but I have been lucky with Ford so far. You should try contacting Ford customer service and report the dealership or try to fill out a comment card or survey. From what I hear, they take those very serious.

Check the A/C frequently.
If it needs a charge that usually means there is a leak in the system.

I argued my case against the them but the wife loved them. I did indeed win out today after explaining to her what happened. From now on we are going to my old dealership about 45 minutes away. It may be a drive but they take care of us and I haven't had any trouble with my car after they work on it.

Get with the service manager, tell him politely how your service experience will effect you decision on where to have your vehicles repaired/maintained.

Bradley is on the right track, but I think it would be much more effective if you got with the SALES manager and told HIM politely that the unbelievably bad treatment you've gotten from their service department has ALREADY affected your decision on where you'll buy your next car.

Hitting them in the pocketbook is more likely to get noticed.

Having spent most of the last 5 decades working in dealerships I would tell
you it's time at this point to get with the GENERAL Manager of the dealership. This
kind of crap usually starts at the top. If it's really a good dealership the GM will
help you. If he won't help you then you're wasting your time.

All businesses' screw up from time to time. Some royally. The difference is
how they handle their mistakes. If the guy at the top is sincere in taking care
of his customers he will, otherwise stay away from this place like a steer from a branding iron.

The guy that I talked to was the Service Manager. I made it known to him that this would be the last time they saw any of my vehicles in there and I would never buy anything from them again. Depending on how it all pans out with the way they fix the alignment on monday is how far I take it. I will advise Monday afternoon how everything shakes out.

I try and steer clear of any dealerships. It just seems the car is never right again after that with all the return visits to fix their screw ups. I can truly say i've only had one awesome experience and believe it or not it was at dodge, the worst one known of all.

I start with the service manager and go up the ladder if needed.
I totally agree with ^^^ the notion that if the General Manager or owner is not receptive to your situation, they are warming the branding iron!

took my new 2007 car to the dealership where i purchased it for it` first
oil change and service check up. i asked to have a fully synthetic as my oil of choice. i was billed $81.09 and told all was well with my car.
when i returned home i checked to see if the oil level was correct.
the oil was dark and over filled!. i jacked up the car and found the drain plug had never been removed nor the filter ,the dirt was still on both the plug and filter, this car has 6000 mi on it. just a warning to check all that you pay for .
i have an on going dispute with the dealer and letters being sent to the home office, this is why i do not nention the Make.
as for the marauder they have done everything i have paid them to do .
now that the warranty is done, i do most myself with a little help from D.R. good luck , it`s a great car , bad people do bad things in the name of profit. F.J.A.

This is why I fix all my own stuff. The only time I would even need to go near a dealership is if the servicing needed a scan tool. Otherwise I have access to friends who will let me use all of the shop goodies I need to service my cars.

well we finally got the car back this evening. All was finally put to rights with the car. I wasn't allowed to say anything to the dealership personell. Its probably for the better though, i'm still pretty disgruntled about the whole deal.

English

Adjective... disgruntled (comparative more disgruntled, superlative most disgruntled)

Unhappy; dissatisfied; frustrated.

Come on now. You were piZZed :mad2:, quite angry , and rather mad about this incident. Unhappy and dissatisfied just doesn't cut it...... unless you were the most disgruntled person ever. :D

Who didn't allow you to say anything?? Oh, OK .... I know.

Yes, I think you know who would not let me vent my frustration. The Bride says I'm not allowed to say unkind things.

And you are right, disgruntled really doesn't cover what I was feeling.

At least I'm done with that place and its "mechanics"

I am extremely suspicious of dealerships. I have had so may sales people lie to me while trying to sell their used cars, it's a culture of deception at some places. Probably effects the service department as well.

I would seriously consider finding a nearby garage with a very good reputation and mechanic. Start small, and if he gains your confidence, give him bigger and bigger jobs. My 2.

I'm sorry that there are dealerships like this. If this was our dealership, first I have Marauder tires in stock, even cheaper brands other than BFG. If we couldn't get to your car, we would give you a rental without you even asking. If you had to come back for something not fixed right [even we make mistakes sometimes}, we would give you a rental again. You should go directly to the Owner of this Dealership. If he values you as a customer and wants your future business he should do something for you. I can't believe these places stay in business.
