Just follow the instructions on how to program it.

Hold down the button you want to program until the light starts to flash. keep button pressed while pressing the button on your opener and move your opener slowly toward the homelink. you may have to slowly move the opener away and back towards it again. when the light on the homelink flashes rapidly, its done! If your garage has a roaming code, you have to hit the reset button on the the opener itself, then, within a 40 seconds repeat the process above. Good luck!!!!

Yeah that's what I had to do with my garage door at work. Made it easier when I had a 2nd person to help.

No problem, the factory dvd manuals are a little hard to navigate if you aren't familiar with it.
So did you get it programmed?

I just followed the PDF procedure. The only thing I noticed is unlike my remote that came with the opener I have to hold the Homelink button in the car for 1-2 seconds. I also had to do the learn function on the opener and everything works great now now my wife can put the remote in her car. It doesn't matter anyways niether of us have room to park in there. Not enough room with all my parts from my Cougar. Damn I need a shed and at least a 2 car garage.

It sounds like you may have rolling number type and it does require two people to do the programming. One on the ladder and one in the car. I had one house where it worked, but now with the rolling number type it's more trouble than it's worth.

I can't get mine to work either. Guessing my door opener is too old. I checked the manual from my old (1980's) Stanley door opener and noticed that the frequency is around 49 Mhz. I was told the newer openers and possiblely homelink are using a much higher frequency (I think around 300Mhz). I'm guessing that is preventing mine from working.
Has anyone heard of this theory yet?

My new opener (Genie screw drive) has rolling codes. First you have to program the new garage remote to the Homelink as per instructions, THEN, press the programming button on the opener (at the ceiling) and get into the car and press the just-programmed button 2 times. Once to teach it to the opener, Once to acknowledge operation.

Yes I printed out the whole Owners Manual (Magnidat PDF), but this section was different.

you shouldn't need two people for the rolling code because it allows 30 secs for you to get back to your vehicle. I've programmed roling codes on two garages and its like clockwork every time. If it helps, everything you need is on page 61 and 62 of your manual. everything past step 6 is for rolling codes. i can scan it if it helps.

Could you drop by here on your way? :o
I've learned a thing or two about mine, ....all three of 'em. The one that says Genie on it works just fine; but those #$%@* POS ones with Chamberlan on em were designed, born, and made in hell. :mad2:
