The factory tune as far as the transmission shifts sucks. It's designed to get you to fourth gear ASAP to save gas. Dennis Reinhart and Lidio Iacobelli (sp?) are to very fine site supporting vendors that can sell you a custom tune. It makes a lot of difference in shifting at city traffic speeds. My drive to work is all 30 mph and under. Do some searching and reading around here and you will find how much we love their tunes.

I would think the same thing too from what i was told that would fix the
problem but im still consernd if its bogging because ther is a problem in
the tranny it realy feels like mercury wouldent build something like that?

I don't think you'll get any different reply than what you've gotten from kadiddle.
The factory part-throttle shift points were chosen because of CAFE regulations.
They are controlled entirely by the ECU, and they are what they are. The only
cure is to get a tuner.

Your bogging is probably because you're lugging aroud in 4th gear (OD).
Get a tune.;)

+1 It sounds like you have a factory tune. It's main goal is economy. Get an aftermarket tune and you will be very happy. I am not starting a war over who to deal with. Do your research ang go with who you like.

i have the bogging too but it
is because we do not have tunes on
our cars although they are not the cheapest
mod they are they best mod out
there for our cars and why is no one using puncuation of any
kind and typing like they are running out of page half
way
oh and i have the same mods as you... no it did not throw your computer off, although the flowmasters do make the car feell like it is sinking when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd and really feels sluggish in 4th is due to the back pressure changing, dont worry your car is normal.

i had 5% all the way around that metered at 3.3% when i got pulled over for it. bought the car with it. 20% is dark enough. my car was literally impossible to see in anytime and unless you had a light at night i couldnt see you at all. very dangerous.

If you still have 4 cats and the stock 2" mid pipe, sorry to burst your bubble, but you didn't change the backpressure much when you went to flowmasters. The 4 cats plus a 2" pipe can only flow so much air, and it won't be anywhere near enough to be causing an open exhaust type condition. A 2" straight pipe flows under 250 cfms IIRC. So a 500+ cfm muffler on each side will not free up the exhaust much.

So, what your saying is that im back to the drawing bord
well let me ask you did you ever own a stock marauder
and how did it act if you did?

Yes my car was stock when I got it. I got it tuned almost immediately because the stock trans shifting routines are so bad. It had the 25 mph TCC lockup that is so intrusive. I couldn't tell you much about the stock tune except, get rid of it. My only mods are a tune and 3.73 gears. But with stock manifolds, dual pinch bent 2" pipes and 4 cats, there is no way that just mufflers on this car makes the exhaust free flowing.

I have a lightly modified 2003 and a completely stock 2004. The transmission drives me crazy when driving the wife's 2004 with factory tune.
You could meet up with other MMers in your area and test drive another stock one. That'll tell you if what you are feeling is just the stock tune.
You can turn off OD when driving around town under 40 mph. It may help a little.
