Just wow, honestly. Before you say I'm an immature young punk with no respect, watch the video. Can someone explain as to why they did that? That's just flat out *****ing wrong. I'm sick and tired of seeing Cops like this abuse their power.

Where is the video of the view from the other direction. If the officer observed a violation, he is justified.

I agree, if you look you will see that the LEO has his eye on that cyclist well before he knocked him down, for what who knows. I'll reserve judgement untll we know what he saw.

you think thats bad, i just found this:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=71096

Parents of a 16-year-old boy in intensive care with a broken back want to know why police Tasered their son 19 times rather than calling an ambulance for help.

Citizens noticed Branson, Mo., teenager Mace Hutchinson walking alongside the road and, fearing for his safety, called 9-1-1.

"We called the police. My wife was afraid he was going to get ran over or hit," said witness Doug Messersmith. "He looked a little agitated but, other than that, he didn't look to be falling down drunk or anything like that."

When police arrived, they found Hutchinson under an overpass on U.S. 65 Saturday morning, Springfield's KY3 News reported. The boy had fallen 30 feet off the overpass and was lying on the shoulder.

When the boy didn't respond to police, they Tasered him, repeatedly.

"I'm not an officer, but I don't see the reason for Tasering somebody lying there with a broken back. I don't consider that a threat," his aunt Samantha said.

Hutchinson was later admitted to the hospital, where he was put under intensive care for his injuries and is listed in fair condition. His family believes police added to the trauma after he fell from the overpass.

"According to the doctors, all injuries are consistent with a fall," Samantha said.

His father said Hutchinson did not jump but fell onto the pavement; however, no one knows why.

"They tested his system. He was clean of drugs and alcohol. We don't know why unless just being in shock and the whole thing in itself caused him to forget everything," Hutchinson told the television station.

While Hutchinson remains in the hospital for major surgery on his broken back and heel, the family questions police actions that morning. His father claims if police hadn't stunned the teenager 19 times, his critical surgery would not have been delayed by two days.

"The Tasering increased his white blood cell count and caused him to have a temperature so they could not go into the operation," he said.

However, Ozark police say the wounded boy was a threat.

"He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him," Capt. Thomas Rousset said. "He is making incoherent statements; he's also making statements such as, 'Shoot cops, kill cops,' things like that. So there was cause for concern to the officers."

Authorities say their use of a Taser weapon should not be questioned, because they were trying to help Hutchinson to safety.

"It's a big concern for the officers to keep this guy out of traffic, to keep him from getting hurt," Rousset said.

The account of how the bike guy assaulted the high on himself cop, who is now without his badge or gun.

Have a good read.

I also agree. It didn't look like he was just being random. plus he was searching the guy. I'm sick of people on bikes who hate cars and always cut me off or blow stop signs. I got a kick out of this. I want to watch it again and laugh!

Did anyone read post number 9 on the SVT site?

The media shows you what they want you to see and will sell the most ad time. There is always more video that was purposely left out.

It seems like a harmless bicycle race, and the cop literally just wrecks the guy off of the bike. What did he do that the others didn't.

That hole biking parade didn't look legal to me with all those cars there even though they claim it was, seems to me they were making him an example or he must have said something the cop didn't like. I'd like to hear the real story.

The guy might have been smoking crack... no kidding. Looks like he was trying to put something in his bag when he was struck down.

This is a clear example of NYC hiring anyone with a pulse. You get what you pay for, I'm shocked over the people I know that have become city cops.

When you offer a job that only pays 30K to start and yet still requires 60 college credits, you will take whoever sign's up.

From the video the cop looks guilty as sin like he singled the guy out and put him down. My GF whos a cop said that cops shouldnt be standing in the middle of the street during a race like that so its very possible that they were waiting for him to arrive and that was the reason for the take down. There are always 2 sides of the story and the media loves to play it like a dirty cop movie.

Ridiculous all the way around. For what the cyclist did and what the cop did. I hope the cyclist gets off and sues the police for excessive force and false allegation. ( He rode his biek INTO the officer? I think not)

There are two sides to every story.
Wait till the investigation is complete before making judgement.
The tape is probably only part of the story.

Not that there isn't plenty of abuse too be tee'd off about, but that looked like they were looking for someone in particular and thought they had found their boy.

JULY 29--You've probably seen that YouTube video of the New York cop viciously knocking down a bicyclist in Times Square last week. Officer Patrick Pogan's blindside hit on Christopher Long led NYPD brass yesterday to strip the rookie cop of his gun and badge pending a department probe. That review will surely focus on the 22-year-old Pogan's sworn account of the takedown, which led to Manhattan prosecutors filing three misdemeanor charges against the 29-year-old Long, who was participating in a monthly bike ride organized by transportation activists. As seen in the below Criminal Court complaint filed against Long (who spent 26 hours in jail after his arrest Friday night), Pogan offered a fantastical version of the incident. Pogan claimed that Long drove his bicycle directly into him, knocking the cop to the ground and causing "lacerations on deponent's forearm." The video, of course, shows Pogan delivering a blow that would have made former Oakland Raider Jack Tatum proud. Pogan also claimed that Long resisted arrest and even exclaimed, "You are pawns in the game, I'm gonna have your job." The bicycle enthusiast's second statement may prove prophetic. hahahha!!!! YES!

See I posted before that I can't stand people on bikes who cause problems for me when I drive.

I want to thank this police officer for serving and protecting for people who actually use CARS in the street! He did exactly what I always wanted to do, knock one down.

How did you find this report?

Some of you have referred to this ride as a race. It's not a race. Critical Mass is an activist group that sponsors these rides. They're goal is to disrupt vehicular traffic and cause congestion with their rides.

I don't know if the officer let his frustration get the best of him, but we also don't know what the bicyclist did before he got in view of the camera.

I thought that's what everyones goal was who rides a bike in a city. I'm going to look these guys up.

There are a group of people like that here in Chicago too and last time they did something like that one guy got hit and killed by a moving truck from a 6 way intersection. I couldn't help, but laugh because I can't stand these people, but on top of that the traffic lights have cameras and it was clear the guy on the bike ran a red.... ha-ha!

Critical Mass is a bunch of punks that get together and jam up city traffic around the country to shove their beliefs down the average schmos gullet as they know nobody will do anything against them (like run their ass down). The police officer was just helping the bicyclist get out of the roadway.

Well I guess the majority of sheeple here dont realize the country is moving towards green like a freight train on a downward slope to hades. There is nothing wrong with bikes and we all should be riding ours more, and Yes I do for those thinking about retorting that I dont ride a bikie. Gas is 5.00 for premium in Santa Barbara CA and 4.60 in Las Vegas NV. I still drive as much as I want but I'll hop on the crusier when I want to go to the park to play ball. T
The blind support of a police is truly distrubing, In case the sheeple forgot we tell the government what to do, not the otherway around. I still want to see the final result on this one. Flamesuit on.
P.S. I am a member of the RNC, Voting Right and support drilling here there and everywhrere in between as well as every other energy producing tech. Acitivism = Democracy.

The Chicago "Bad Cop Update": http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080807/koddities/odd_police_officer_starbucks

One of the comments hits right to the heart of the subject.

Police should not receive any free services / products from anybody. It makes them look bad (like they are running a protection scam) and it undermines public confidence in our paid for protection service.
