Anyone have any exp or info about their pumps or system?

I have a high heat condition when it's 90+* while driving 20-30mph. If I turn the a/c off or pass under a cloud the high temp goes back down.

Anyone know of a better mechanical pump?

Some have said a 2005 Navigator, don't know if it will fit.

I have an Evans pump but haven't tried it out yet. Soon I'll know. There is a pic somewhere in my gallery showing the impellers. It is similar to the Stewart/EMP pump, but the impeller blades are curved.

Do not use the Evans coolant. It is pure, undiluted propylene glycol. It will work good at first, but will cause heat soak after extended driving periods.

For only $150 from Summit racing, the EMP pump is the way to go.

Here's the Evans impeller design:

And here is the stock & EMP:

And here is the Meziere:

I thought you were running the electric water pump?

Not to start a tech war, but does anyone know the differences between curved vanes and straight?

I am. I got the Evans pump when I was having overheating troubles which turned out to be leaking head gaskets. I figured since I've got it I might as well try it out now.

Not really, but most industrial water pumps have curved ones.

Added pic of the Meziere impeller in post #4

Part #EP30514 correct? What was the price. I see it listed from about $170 up to about $200. Would be interesting to see a comparison between the temps of this vs the EMP stewart.

so electric is more effiecent than mechanical? that doesnt sound right to me.

Does anyone know if the Evans or EMP flow better or reduce temps?

The emp showed me an average 8 degrees cooler across idling and extended driving. It's in a thread around here somewhere.

Meziere apparently flows 42GPM all the time while the Stewart flows 15-20 gpm @ 1500 up to 130GPM @ 5K RPM.

Each have their pros and cons, but the Stewart was my choice for my driving.

As for the vanes, I 'd have to drag out some old books. Straight vs curved is the difference between flow and head pressure, but I can't remember which is which. I do remember it's not the curve itself that does the work, it's the longer flow path and amount of torque given to the water due to the longer flow path. Still can't remember which is which.

I've got a Stewart pump on the way. Here is a link to it on their site:

And Summits site who I ordered from:
