As many of you GVRD guys know, the Langley Cruise-In is the largest outdoor car show in BC. The entire downtown is closed down and used as the showgrounds, usually seeing about 700 cars show up. Last few years the quality has been dropping, but there are still some amazing rides to see.
I plan on entering ($15 fee going to charity) and was hoping to see some of you other MMs help me put on a good showing! I've never seen any MMs there, so this would be a show "first"!
The show date is Saturday Sept 06/2008, and there is an informal cruise the night before. Here is the website:

Since I live in Langley, I could cherry-pick some great parking spots by getting there VERY early that morning (it's first come, first serve) for anyone who registers.
Once you park your car, what you do is up to you. I'll probably wander around at some point, because I've never been entered in a car show that lasted for more than 2 hours!:)
I'll bring a cooler!
PS-- This is my first "real" car show to enter. So long as your MM is clean, bring it out. I'm no car show guru or anything, I just want to show the beast off! Perhap we need to have a detailing night at my place the night before. We can squeeze 4 MMs in the driveway, 2 along the curb, and one on the lawn!! Or we can take over the cul-de-sac....:P

Our due date (for the baby) is Sept 6th, so I'll need to play it by ear. If I'm guessing right, my place will be run over by visiting in-laws so I may be able to slip away for a bit.

Anyone? Geez, I didn't think I'd have to pull teeth for this one! I was hoping to get a good group shot as a possible cover photo for the next calendar as well.

I think we definitely need to recruit some more Canadian west coasters to this site. Guess I should start tagging vehicles....

I've tagged 4...well, three actually. Got the same one twice last week!:D
Gave them all a MM.net card, but haven't seen any of them register here as members. Maybe they're lurking??
I guess Tim is busy as heck with kids/summer/work stuff etc.

Yah, but is it cool to leave my wife home alone with our newborn baby just so I could go do a car show?? We shall see my friend.....we shall see.
Also....I don't think you can hijack your own thread....especially if we're the only ones contributing to it.....

Wow, nice character assasination there, pal. Don't say one thing in person to me and then the opposite here!
We'll see you when we get back from weekend, going to the Sunshine coast.

Sounds good, I'm still wanting those signboard pics from the Napa show we went to, Tim!

Registered today, hopefully it still qualifies for the early registration. Gotta get a signboard made up...and my foglight replaced.

I have an original brochure card that I'll most likely use. I'll colour copy one side and display both:

Well, we had an awesome day today. The estimates were that 14,000 people attended, and nearly 1000 cars were on display. The whole downtown core was closed the previous night, and yours truly (followed closely behind by Freakstatus) actually led the convoy from the staging area at a nearby university, to the downtown core at about 0600 this morning, because the official police escort didn't show up!
I felt like the Pied Piper leading a ratpack of serious horsepower....you have no idea how tough it was for me to set a slow, even, steady pace with all that horsepower lining up behind me. I deserve some serious brownie points for that!:)
As you can see in the third shot, we not only set up a table with my build sheet and some of Derek's MM ads, but we also claimed the street as "Marauder St."....and the street went as far as the eye can see! Having the first spots on the very east edge of the whole show was great!:D
