Yesterday while on the Southern state parkway here in NY, i noticed a Trooper with FULL LED tail lights. The car definatly looked to be on the newer side (possibly an 08). Anyone have an idea who makes these or where they can be had?
It was awful tempting to pull over with the LEO to ask him about the lights, lol!

Hey Lenny,
I haven't noticed that car yet. I'll keep looking for him. Was it a marked car?
L.E.D. tail lights are something I've been thinking about trying. I already put in a L.E.D. third brake lamp.

He had the new slim LED roof lights. He was fully marked.
I wonder if it was something they had done to match the other LEDs on the car?

I like the LED's in the new Infiniti G35. Not quite a circle but could be menacing in the right vehicle. I have thought about doing it with a resistive circuit to make them blink at a normal rate.

I've thought real hard about it, too. Just never had a spare housing to butcher....

They need to have a video showing the lights in action.

When I get the extra cash I think I will order a set just to see how they are and report back.
I don't know if any other place sells them but I have only seen them on Stylintrucks.com

They look like they won't be giving full enough coverage. I want a tail light full of L.E.D's like the OEM's

I saw some direct replacement LED bulbs in the store the other day and was interested. So if I bought them they would cause my blinkers to flash faster is that correct? What about swapping out the old flasher for one of those new digital ones?

The flasher in the Marauder is just a clicker. The actual rate is generated by the lighting module. When you put in the led bulbs the lighting module thinks there is a bulb out and causes the flash rate to be higher to let the driver know to check the bulbs. A power resistor is usually put in parallel to draw the additional current needed to fool the LCM.

the 40-120 lumens bulb look like the newluxeon K2 diodes. They are
super brightand they have the fl2-red solid state flasher so you
do not have to install resistors everywhere-sweet some nice products!
Unfortunately it does not work with the Marauder LCM!

Subject: HALO system bulbs
Can the LED bulbs in the HALO system be used as one-for-one replacements to the incandescent bulbs in the Crown Victorias/Mercury Marauders? In other words, get the brighter LED lighting without the warning functionality that the control module supplies? If so, how much (and where)?

No, the control module actually takes the turn signal and parking light inputs from the vehicle and sends them through reduced voltage to the leds. Trying to hook the bulbs up directly will cause them to burn up.
At the very least you can purchase model HA02FAA for the front, and model HA02R2 for the rear. You can choose not to hook up the warning function, but if you did you would just have amber warning in the front and red in the rear, which may come in handy for certain roadside situations where you want something a little brighter then your 4-way flashers.
Thank you for choosing Whelen products.

The LCM can be bypassed.
