They are both terrible and neither has any clue on how to guide the country in the right direction.

McCain is too old to run, is not sure if he is a true conservative or a hybrid, and is throwing all his faith into the private sector when it comes to the stuff that Americans care about - healthcare, welfare, etc. Last I checked the private sector is failing, and oh my gosh, needs the central government to bail them out!

Obama is just saying action words; change, best country, best time to be alive, etc etc. And he has no experience and no clue on how to bring about change. He is all talk and no bite.

Yet another Presidential election I can safely skip voting in. And thanks to the Electoral college my vote will not matter - MA is bluer then the sky. Not that either side has it right.

Politics is such a waste of time these days, everyone is bought and sold. All those veterans past and present should be mighty upset that the candiates grand stand on them and abuse the faith in our country we give them.

Agreed!

That way EVERY news camera/ journalist/reporter / web blogger in the entire country could be in the same place all the time.

This would save millions of gallons of gas because they could just all travel together.

(Don't laugh. This idea isn't any dumber than Obamas "air up your tires" energy plan)

Eric-Blk2004

I doubt his whole energy plan is to fill tires with air. Lets not play into the political machine. They are getting us to nit pick over seriously laughable details and not focus on the truth - neither of them has a viable solution to the engery problem in the US.

But yes lets focus on the tires...or the offshore drilling. Both are joke plans that will not work :)

If Obama actually has an energy plan, much like him, I'm all ears....

We don't have the problem of choosing a President. We pick a party that lies the best, switches sides at a whim and then we do it again.

The key is to pick the one that will do the least damage to you, your freedoms, your social programmes and your pocket book.

We also do not have hanging chads, we either use the pencil on paper and the X or the birch bark or pine cone option. But the pine cones sometimes dry out and then fall apart.

Obama; Started planning his White House run after 150 days in the US Senate. He didn't pass any signifigant legislation and seldom voted "yah or nay" instead choosing to vote "present" some 360+ times instead. That's leadership?

GWB; Ran an entire state as Governor (essentially commander-in-chief for 1/50 of the nation). Dealt with his states death penalty cases, first hand. He was also a member of the Air National Guard where he acrued enough flying hours to fullfil his obligation. His brother is also a governor and his father was president. (Let's not forget Hillary thought SHE was qualified since she was married to the president).

Please advise exactly what has Bush done that has "ruined" this country?

OBAMA has sponsored legislation requiring we notify terrorist organizations w/in 7 days of placing them under surviellance. Obama also said he would fillibuster any bill granting immunity to telecom's who gave info after 911 to help thwart any more attacks.

On 9-12 had the FBI come to your business and said we think one of your employees committed 911, we are afraid of another attack we are in a lot of directions, stretched thin, time is lieterally ticking and don't have a warrant will you show us his personnel file? What would you have done? Showed the file only to be sued by the likes of a Dick Scruggs?

OBAMA would have immediately pulled out of Iraq resulting in a blood bath and emboldoning our enemies. We now know that running away from Somalia directly lead to 911.

From the Washington Times...

Quote:
VOIGHT: My concerns for America
Obama sowing socialist seeds in young people

Monday, July 28, 2008

Actor Jon Voight. Associated Press.

OP-ED

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.

Those same leaders who were in the streets in the '60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.

Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we've almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.

If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there's not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.

Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.

This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

Jon Voight is an Academy Award-winning actor who is well-known for his humanitarian work.

For Christ's sake, he has second billing to Nicholas Cage.

I've read lots of stuff on what Obama is going to do to America. He's going to take away your guns and make you gay while taking your entire paycheck and giving it to illegal immigrants. Oh yeah? Well when Ann Coulter is president she is going to blow up the moon using liquified black babies as rocket fuel.

Just as true.

If we're going to argue using speculation, then this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0) is as relevant as anything people want to pin on Obama before he ever gets elected, *IF* he gets elected.

So... now we need to move on - are we now going to listen to YOU again after you have lost all credibility - because according to you (one with great proven insight) that another candidate is younger and has less experience?

This sounds almost faith based. Do you hire carpenters to fix your car as well? Just because they DON'T have any experiance doesn't disqualify them, right?

I don't need "great insight" to recognise a poor candidate for the job when I see one. No wonder they're calling Obama "The Messiah". Voting for some one without any experiance is a pure leap of FAITH.

What exactly is being revealed about my character? Is it something bad? You keep harping on this to anyone who disagrees with you. You even called out Park Ranger with this line of tripe. What does all your cry baby postings trying to garner public sympathy reveal about YOUR character?

Per Miriam-Webster - Main Entry: pla·gia·rize transitive verb
: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source
intransitive verb
: to commit literary theft : present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source

Posting facts such as 2+2=4 is not "plagiarized". Copying facts from a government website or industry web site where there maybe no author such as a gasoline consumption table is not "plagiarized".

Using your definition of "plagiarized" the letters you use come from an alphabet and yet I don't see anywhere in your posts where you have credited the source of this alphabet.

It has nothing with disagreeing it has to do with being civil. What your character reveals is that you personally attack another who you have never met merely because that person does not agree with you on a particular issue.

There are billions of human beings in this world with different experiences, view points and beliefs. The over whelming majority of whom agree on just about everything. In comparison to the whole the differences in beliefs are minor and yet your character has no tolerance for this minor diversity to the point you personally attack another.

Why? Does it build your confidence or give you a feeling of superiority?

We have never spoken, sent each other pms, written to each other, met, met each others families, seen each others houses, broken bread or have any idea what the other has experienced in life. And yet you appear to be so comfortable in personally attacking me.

It is something in your character I will never understand, perhaps because it is not in my character.

In a public forum, once someone uses the quote function, that material becomes part of their post. However correctly or incorrectly people want to argue the material is being used, it's obviously not the original poster's responsibility.

I guess what I am saying is that a trained monkey can figure out when someone says something or when they are being lampooned. And if people are making judgments about you solely from what they hear form others, they have more pressing needs than worrying about public forums.

Feel better?

...use (another's production) without crediting the source

Copying facts from a government website or industry web site where there maybe no author such as a gasoline consumption table is not "plagiarized".

Seems pretty clear to me.

It all boils down to this. If you can't be bothered to cite where you obtained your facts, then its plagiarism. When you use "another's production" for the basis of your argument, then you need to cite your source. Source DOES matter.

Keep beating that dead horse. It shows your true character.

What am I? Your vague insults have no meaning. Much like your opinions.

At least Democrats are out in the open. You can't be sure about a Republican until you meet him in a restroom or send your son to be a congressional page.
