Marauder Certificate of Authenticity

I just received my latest issue of SVT Enthusiast magazine. Inside they mention www.fordperformancegroup.com (http://www.fordperformancegroup.com) that offers a certificate of authenticity for SVT products (already have one for my '02 Focus SVT). They mention that soon there will be a package for '03-'04 Marauders. It is scheduled for availability sometime late September and it will also include all production #'s of all colours and options, VIN decoder, and such. I suggest everyone that is interested to call them at 1-800-FORD-788 and let them know you want all the info on your Marauder. The more of us that do this may bring it out faster. The price will be around $40-45. BTW I get a 15% discount through my SVTOA membership.

Unreal, but true. I just called Ford Performance Group and Yes it is true, FPG will be offering SVT Certificates of Authenticity for 2003-04 Marauder - UNREAL. :banana2: They will be ready by the end of September. BUT, it would really help for everyone to call and support the effort. See linky.

I just got off the phone with them. The gentleman I talked to said that Marauder owners, like Bullitt and Mach1 owners tend to appreciate these certifcates more than Cobra owners who tend to just go out and buy the biggest and fastest Mustang. We tend to recognize the uniqueness of our vehicles.

He also confirmed the approximate release date and price.


Looking forward to obtaining one and having it framed to also be displayed at car shows.

They are in the midsts of putting a VIN matrix together to figure out build dates, and breakdowns of colors and options with production numbers. Nice to see this happening. Calls should be made in mid September to 1800-ford-svt as stated above.

Yes it is from Ford. As far as your window sticker, you need to have the orginial one. They may have a repo version, but I have no info on that. Give them a call.

They should be ready for doing this by September. He took all of my info name, address, e-mail blah blah blah.

He said e-mails will go out to people first giving them a preview of what it will all look like and when you can start ordering them.

He asked me how I found out about them and I said from here and he said they did anounce them a little earlier than they should have originaly and appologized for it.

But he mentioned he has seen what they are intending for the certificate work and so far it looks awsome in his opinion.

No mention of price yet.

He said only a few people have called to show interest but they plan on doing them anyways so thanks FORD for remembering us and our cars.

They are still in the process of chasing out the "ghost cars" as he called them. the want to make sure that the numbers they have mess with what is really out there. he also said the major delay is becasue they have to weed out the GM's which were built the same time as the MM's. It seems that the finalization of the certificate design,
as well as working out the technical details of
each and every Marauder is going to take longer
than originally anticipated.

I was told, that at the earliest, January 2009 should be the point
at which Marauders owners can start placing orders for their
Certificates of Authenticity and expect that the certificates will have

What a hobby!!!!! 2 MMs = $80 -- $90 for 2 Certificates!
Oh well, I have plans to put these certifs to good use!

Thinking out loud they would look GREAT mounted on walnut plaques! Only after I have performed some magic to preserve what I receive from Ford. Don't want to share too much of my plans!

FWIW, Here is what is on the FPG site for
2003 MMs: 7093 Black, 417 SB, 328 DPB for Total of 7838.
2004 MMs: 1237 Black, 997 SB, 980 DTR for Total of 3214
I hope they take their time and get things as correct as possible.

"Here is the latest on the Certificates....

Ford has cut staffing as much as possible and it has negatively impacted the certificate program. It has come to a one man operation and he has a LOT on his plate. This has slowed things down, but rest assured that it is still happening. We are probably looking at mid December at the earliest, and mid January at the latest. Right now they are assessing the data pulled from Ford on the production numbers. It takes time and someone to do it. Mike, Steve, and myself will get the first production certificates to review and check to see if the data and information is right. When that happens, we will let you know.

Just a side note, there is NO need to keep calling the Ford Performance hotline for updates. They will not have better info than I have. I am getting my info from the guy running the FPG directly, so no need to keep calling them.

When I called FPG on Nov. 7th, I was told to call back in Jan. '09. The person would NOT take any info -- was quite pleasant, but said not before Jan. Figure $40--$45 per Certif. I will let the MCMMers do thier thing and we here will get the benefit of their work --eventually. I appreciate what they are doing and will be PATIENTLY waiting.

I spoke to Ford in early December, at that time Ileft them eMail contact information. They stated at that time it would more than likely be February before they got to the Marauders. They are committed to doing this it just takes time. I was promised an eMail when they start working on the MM certs..

I am deleting all of the sample certificates. The design of the certificates to be produced has changed and we don't need Ford, with Edsel's signature, taking any action against any of us in using such images without Ford's approval.

Let's not jeopardize this great project. Reproducing the artwork for your own purposes may do just that. The last thing you want to do is to tell Ford you're tired of waiting and will make one on your own. We're very lucky that they're even considering this, especially for a car 5 years out of production.

Marauder Certificates are.....
The Marauder Certificates will be available mid to late June, and members should have them in July. I spoke with John from FPG today. There was another issue that I was unaware of that was delaying the release. I knew they had cut his staff, causing a delay, however there was something else going on as well. Apparently the Marauder Certificate was tied in with the Mustang Bullitt Certificate, both were to be released at the same time, therefore if one got hung up, so did the other. In our case, the Bullitt Certificate was hung up by Warner Brothers Legal, who dragged their feet for no good reason in aproving the use of the name. So the combination of those two problems is what caused the delay. Warner Brothers ok'd the Bullitt Certificate, and the production information has been crunched and is being finalized. John said he will know better by next week about the actual release date for our Certs. This is great news, for those that thought this wouldn't happen, I am pleased to prove you wrong! FPG has put considerable time and effort into this program, and the official word from FPG is "it is a done deal, the Certificates will be definitely out before Woodward". Sounds good to me!
