Anyone else watch the opening ceremonies for the 2008 Olympics?

What a production ... WOW. :up:

2008 Drummers, the countdown, 500 foot LED screen embedded in the floor, flying acrobats, wrap-around screen at the top of the "Birds Nest", the moveable type exhibition (incredible timing by the people inside), Tai Chi perfect circles, the lighting of the Olympic Flame cauldron that appeared out of thin air and the entrance march of the nations.

More fireworks than you can count .... all over the city of Beijing.

If there was a flaw or timing issue .... I never saw it .....

Why has no one else ever thought of a forced airstream at the top of the flag poles to keep the flags flying? :dunno:

That'll be a hard act to follow .... "Might as well retire the trophy :trophy: for opening ceremonies now." That's a quote from NBC4 news this morning.

I saw it too- what an incredible show they put on. I would've loved to have seen it live too.

I saw much of it....very impressive....human paint brushes dancing on the canvas. Precision of the dancers and T'ai Chi were unbelievable. Fireworks were endless.

Well, China being the warm friendly place that it is, those performers had to be perfect or else.

Incredibly touching and breathtaking!
And I agree Bluerauder, why hasn't anyone done forced air streams before is beyond me.
Perfect timing and performance that will be hard to out do for years to come, or so I think.

Yeah, it kinda reminded me of the Nuremburg rallies, only the ChiCom version.

Charlie i just watched it myself and ....wow just wow the box thing with people inside unreal the timming and chorography (spelling) you get the point............just unreal wow

Very impressive... i loved the drummers and sat watching it in amazement.... the precision and the timing was perfect. They kept showing harmony.... too many times for me to believe them though lol

We get to find out starting in January 2009. The opening ceremony was great. I wish I could have been there for the fireworks.
