After about 10 days, the LM dealer parts guy is still trying to find a 300A windshield. I had to let him know that this is a different WS than the one in a GM, then I had to tell him that the A and B have different WS's. THEN, I had to explain to him that there is a MM 300 A and B and what the differences are. Nice guy, trying hard to help, just has no idea what this car is all about.

Ross,
What's the difference ?. I have a 300A. With a cracked winshield. I was worried about getting it fixed anywhere else but the dealership. now maybe I should worry about that as well. If or when you get the part number can you post it.

I don't think there is much difference, but I know that the A has the "polka dot" pattern over the rear view mirror that I've heard the B doesn't have. Someone also posted awhile back saying that the A might have a little darker tint strip across the top. Basically, I want to keep my car "anatomically correct." I'll be sure to post PN's when I get them.

I'm with you, It was the Polka dots that I was concerned with. they do a great job of hiding the tollway sensor.

Just a heads up, the new B WS may have replaced the A WS. If they perform the same function, they don't necessarily need to keep the old one around. Since there seems to be a very small difference, the A's may have been discontinued. If, for example, the WS said "Marauder," then I would think they would have to keep it around as long as any other MM part. Just a thought.

My windshield was broken on the road at 2AM. Had to take a replacement, not a Ford. Can't wait to bust this window and get the correct windshield. 2AM on an interstate, one phone call, 45 min and 187 dollars later, new glass. Can't complain much.

FMC probably got a different vendor for the windshields. The #300B's and GM's built at the same time have the same windshield.

The polka dots are your antenna. You need this for your radio.

Ross:

I thought it was the other way around . . . I have a 300B WITH the polka dots. I thought the 300A had a tinted windshield (near the top) WITHOUT the polka dot pattern? I would prefer the OEM Ford part without the polka dots if that's still available (got a small crack in the center from a rock after only the second week of ownership!). If anyone has a part number for the non-polka dot one, please lemme know!

You're kidding, right? The antenna is in the back window.

Oh, and all this time I thought those dots kept the aliens from reading my mind....
