I hope this isn't imposing on your forum John...but we have no other stereo forum and everything music seems to end up here.:P
To those of you that have made the conversion to allow an iPod connection to your Pioneer navigation head unit, is this the right iPod cable for AVIC-D1?

Yes thats the one Cruz, the only down side is navigating stuff on this AVIC is a PITA. I usually just have playlists pre-made, or leave the ipod on shuffle mode and just press next.
Plug into the aux input and use the controls on the I pod. Its easier! It just does not charge the I pod. The cd 100 is 44.00 plus shipping.

That cable from Crutchfield will alow full iPod use including video on current Pioneer AVIC D3 units. You won't need the encrypted cable from Apple.

Yeah but it will not work on the D1, you need the little brain box-middle man between the unit and the ipod.
Cruz, you can also open up the unit (CD-IB100ii), and unplug a little blue wire, allowing you to manually control the ipod without losing charging capabilities.

My intentions exactly.

Barry, I should have thought of that. Just use the RCA inputs and get a 3mm (headphone) to 2x RCA adapter.
Hope it works out for ya. Keep in touch and let me know how it's going!!
