It's wierd, same thing happens to a kid at work in his Maxima. So he has to use the ghetto tape deck thing for his iPod.

Try in the center power outlet in the center, but the problem is it's an ipod, you need a record player to fully enjoy music! :D

Are you sure the plug is hot? Tried anything else to see if power is getting to it? Try plugging it into the plug inside the console and see if it works.

The cigarette lighter works, it also doesn't work in the center console either

When you say "doesn't work"....do you mean that it isn't transmitting over fm?

Grab a cheapie battery radio and put it in the car next to the transmitter and try to tune in the channel. Do you know what channel the modulater is transmitting on?

I had one of those plug in the top of the iPod type transmitters, and had it set to 89.7
It worked half assed, and even worse in the city.

Our stereo antenna is in the rear window and that is a big part of the failure.

I still use the tape deck adapter.

However...I have Crutchfields iPod adapter kit for our radio. Now this will work awesome. No controls for the iPod, but crystal clear sound on the aux position of the oem radio.

I never opened, nor installed this kit. I was going to do so, but have since bought an AVIC-D1 which requires an entirely different adapter.

I will sell you my Marauder kit for 70% cost if you want it.

Yes mine is also 89.7, there is a digital face on the front that is suppose to light up blue when it is on, it doesn't even turn on when plugged in.

What if the crutchfield kit doesn't work in my car can I send it back to you.

PM me with a price,
Thanks, Sean

If you have a stock radio, it WILL work.
It 'piggy' plugs into the factory harness and uses the inputs from the cd changer in the trunk whether you have one or not. It has a harness and small black box to hide with rca inputs and level adjustments. I have one in my focus and love it. I did not get all fancy and go to redio shack and buy a female din and mount it in the dash like all the dodge cars have. I just ran the rca cable under the dash and carpet and it pops out in the armrest. I power and plug in the iPod in the armrest where no one can see it. From what I was told, the cd changer will no longer work.
I have not proven this, but it did not matter to me as I no longer use cd's...and if I did the front loader will still work. I have two 40gb iPods with over 60 megs of tunes.

I don't think its the fuse? Wouldn't the cig lighter not work if it was the fuse?

Just get yourself an aftermarket radio preferably an Alpine unit that is fully Ipod compatable and call it a day.

The best thing I ever did was replace the stock radio with an aftermarket. Factory H/U really suck on these cars.
