As of 5:30 I am a homeowner again. Only this time, no female involved - except my daughter, of course.

Thanx all of you for participating in my 'in the weeds garage sale'. It helped.

We'll be moving during the holiday weekend.

I got a phenomenal deal. Last sale was $175K and I paid $74K. It was a foreclosure bank sale. It wasn't trashed. They just walked away. It needed all appliances and some AC work. Appraisal in current condition was nearly $100K.

My realtor has turned into a friend through the process and the loan officer and processor at my bank (where I work) absolutely kicked ass on the financing.

All in all Jamie and I are looking forward to not having to move ever again against our will.

At the end of the day, the kindness I've learned here has helped me accept and appreciate the kindness offered (though rarely) in the world at large.

Just thought I'd share a milestone with my friends. Thanx.

Wow I wish houses were that inexpensive around here.

I'm currently trying to sell my Condo 450-500K range and buying another in the 350-400K range. Paying off debt with the difference and pocketing some cash.

Congratulations

Imagine that your own house.

Congrats Rich! I am glad you found a window to get it done! Folks not in hurricane area's may not appreciate how hard it is to close on a home 'in season'. The good ol' insurance companies get squeamish about issuing policies when there is a big bag of wind on the horizon. :D

The best to you and Jamie! If you need any help or anything, holler out!

That's awesome Rich. I have an extra fridge and an upright deep freeze that I need to get rid of. They work fine, we just don't need them any more. They have some age on them and have lived in the utility room. Srill work good though. Would get you by for a while till you can get nicer ones. Call me if you need them. For you, really really really cheeeeep!

I heard about this and had a dream that night that I was visiting Magindat at his new house and as I was looking out I saw my Marauder next to his and said that was a view I don't get to see very often, (Looking down from an upstairs window) and someone else not Magindat, who I don't know what he looks like, but someone else older then said to me about 30 seconds later look again. I look again and there is my DTR Marauder being towed away by a very big tow truck. Back wheels up, which is strange given it was parked front wheels out. Any how we watch it go, and I'm thinking this really is strange, it gets to the end of the drive way when a guy gets out of the following truck, an older 70's ford "brown with white showing through and of all things a newer bright white chevy tailgate" The tow truck is huge and square and also brown. This is set in a big house in a town I used to live in, as I don't know where Magindat lives, and I/we watch them drive down the road in convoy and up the hill, magindat then starts heading to his Marauder to follow. Then in a fit of lucidity I think this is pretty dumb, I would have a set of Camera's in my car if i was taking on a road trip to Florida (which doesn't have any hills, but I have never been there so how would I know). So I take my 007 Nintendo DS out of my pocket activate the kill switch and tell the driver the Magnavolt will activate in 15 seconds if he is still in my car. He hops out, and I tehn do the 007 thing and drive my empty car remotely back and Magindat is stunned to see it drive back to his place, with no one in it and park back where it was a few minutes before. Then I woke up.

There are plenty of "walk aways" right now. Saw a mortgage company picked up a nice 10 year old all brick 2400 sq ft one story 3 car garage house near me for 105k last month. Congrats on the house.
