Well... I remember i was about 18 (I think it was 1999-2000) I had a 1996 Crown Vic P71. I though it was fast, (come on I was 18 ish and it was my 1st car) I went out to airport road to race a buddy's brother. He had a 1997 Mustang Cobra, a beautiful dark green 5sp with the factory wheels.

So we lined em up and he just killed me, by like 6 cars. He offered to give me a ride after seeing how much I was interested in the car, I did and OH BUDDY, it was like a roller coaster, every gear.

I loved it, but i still loved my panther car, I had the idea of what if that motor was in my car. That would be awsome, but being only minorly car smart, and broke like a teenager, there was no way I had the money or knowledge to make it happen.
A few years later I heard (cant remember exactly how, I think a car magazine) that there was this new car called a "MARAUDER" coming out.
Everything I wanted, My sweet Panther body car with the motor of that sweet sweet cobra (Dont split hairs with me people, its a 4V motor)
but still being broke I figured it would never happen.

While in college I did go test drive one, I felt like a virgin getting lucky for the 1st time, It was awsome, power, style, and a big panther car.

Well down the road i finally did get my MM.

Thats my story of WHERE I found out about the MM and HOW I felt when i 1st drove one and WHY I love it.

How about your where, why, how?:burnout:

Ok, I'll give it a go..
I always have loved big cars since I can remember, my dad had an 87 Grand Marquis, bought (currently mine) a 93 towncar brand new (I was like 6), and then a 99 TC new, so I have always been around big cars and we always wanted a Crown Vic just for the looks.

When the Marauder was introduced @ the auto show in chicago in 02, we went and he knew he just had to get one. Well by the end of 03 I convinced him he should get one before they go away, as they were limited production. He found an 04 new in Indiana, we went to test drive it, it was badass and he took it home.

He barely used the car, as work is not too far for him, Soon as I got a better job I kept offering to buy it. I'd say about summer of 06, is when he gave in, and sold it to me, only had 7K miles, and mint. He already had a GS series lexus he bought a year before. Everyday I love the car more and more, and do not see myself parting with it.

EDIT: Wanted to include a pic of mine..

I love big cars, I have always had them, and they have always served me well.

I saw the Marauder show car, and knew I wanted one, but as a private high school teacher, and youth pastor, I knew it wasnt going to happen soon.

but God called us away to the midwest, and the transition allowed for some newer vehicles (4x4s for the snow) and when I saw a mis-labled Marauder on ebay listed at grand marquis prices, I decided to ask forgivness instead of permission...

what a ride!

2005 i went looking at a mercury mountaineer with a friend, The dealer (Malouf Lincoln mercury, now chevrolet since L/M moved in with ford) had a black and silver (both with spoilers) on the lot and i said "wow look at these, ive hardly heard about them but this is one cool ass car"

2007 i was thinking about what i was interested in buying. Mustang gt? To slow, Cobra? Nope to expensive and my dad wouldnt let me get anything with a stick. Started researching about marauders, Got the A-OK on that so i joined this forum and started reading up on my facts so i could go (unt punt the dealer with information. The first MM i looked at was an 03 A with 24K miles, owned by an 84 year old man who got it into a right side accident and lost his license in it. Because of this, the left side was all bad scratches but the right side looked brand new. The motor was clean, oil was fine, smelled like old man though and the interior had some nicks around the shifter and on the dash. The dealer wouldnt go below 19,000. So we left. Thus ending my almost owning a black MM :(

Aug 2007 Was looking between a 03 B (but later found out it sold so i never saw it) and an 04. I had recently inquired about a 04 with about 6k miles i think at the time, but 25k i couldnt afford. So i went to the dealer, bought my car with 30k, and havent looked back

I have always been big into the car scene. I've had numerous Mustangs. I knew the Marauders came out when they did... but never paid too much attention. It was a heavy CV with some wheels, body panel differences and a 4V engine with no bottom end TQ... YEY!

Well... as I matured (and recovered from a bunch of tickets and racing charges) I decided to give up my DD go fast cars and get something nice and comfortable. First is was a 97 T-bird that I bought off my grandfather.

Traded the T-bird for a Mark VIII. Then I wanted something 4-doors...

so I sold the Mark VIII and bought the Marauder.

GO FIGURE.

I saw the commertial where the 2 cars "scoot" away from the parked Merc and laughed my arse off. When I heard it was coming out I was very excited. I wanted one. Now I've had 2 and love em. I like "tough" but functional cars. I like driving that merc around and knowing that if some idiot slams his car into mine I'll be walking away or close to it. I was orginally looking for a Jeep when My buddy at an auction called "uhhhh dude....remember how you wanted a marauder....and we laughed cause we'd never find one....." me "yeah?" him "there is one here right now with your name on it."

Was always a lover of Crown Vic's. But when I saw the Marauder

concept in 2001-2002 I was hooked.

In September of 2004, I went to go look at one. The car was a

2003 at Acton Lincoln Mercury in Mass. with 6,000 miles. Still

smelled new. $22,800 took her home, not a bad price at the time. The

best I could get at another local dealer was $27,500 for a brand new

2004. So I icked up the 2003.

Owned a few Mustangs over the years, but saw the commercial for the MM and was interested until I saw the sticker. Saw one in 2004 at a dealership, but it was gone before I could get in to take it for a test drive. By now I was hooked and looked online and found one about five hours away. Bought it sight unseen and undriven. Drove the tradein up to the dealer, did the testdrive and drove away..totally happy.

Lot of owner justification - lot of sells and people need to remind themselves why they have their cars?

where? I got mine from some garabage of used car dealer out in the sticks, why? because its a car with 4 doors and has good features for the price. Cant beat leather - quality leather, 18s, chrome, dual exhaust with nice tips, and a big car that is not underpowdered. how? sold it to me because my check cleared

Does it tickle my inner car geek spirit? Not really. Its a functional car more or less - nice trunk dumb spare tire location - etc etc...

I had a silver 1995 Taurus SHO for 8 years and loved it. It suddenly became car-shopping time when I saw the 2000 Supercharged Taurus in blue at the Chicago Auto Show. It had 18" wheels, Katz headlamps and blacked-out everything with a blown Duratec V6 making 255 horsepower. Well Nobody would sell a Duratec supercharger kit because that one was a one-off. I ended up searching supercharger manufacturers online and found Trilogy's Marauder (I found Claude on their list of installers). Never saw one - didn't know they existed but I did some homework and decided that I had to have one. Well - the wish might have ended there until the catalyst showed up at my shop. Yep, Tom shows up with his silver 2004 and a sunroof. I drooled all over it and told him to give me first dibs if he ever sold it. He basically told me "tough - go get your own, I ain't sellin' it!" Word got out that I wanted one and I even dabbled with giving up and buying whatever Marauder I could afford. I was contacted by Claude with a link to a 2004 silver/sunroof in Hialeah. I called and made a deposit sight unseen. Now its mine and like Tom says, go get your own, I ain't sellin' it!

I had returned from a deployment from overseas and seen the commercial for the MM. and liked it straight away. Set up a test drive and fell in love with it, but couldn't afford it at the time(2004). Checked the internet for a couple of years, got married and so on. After visiting a friends place in a neighboring city I had to pass the Ford dealership to get on the freeway, and there it sat in the driveway. Will power lasted about ten miles and I went back to take a "look" at it. Signed the papers and drove it home with the wife following behind me. I drive it almost daily now. I love this car!

I was looking to get a next gen Mustang. They were selling at a large premium. Local dealer had a 04 Blk MM. Test drove it and really liked it, but did not want another black car. Bought an 04 DTR through another dealer. Never saw it until I picked it up. It is now retired from daily driver use and is for fun only :D No more winters for her, she gets to hibernate.
