View Full Version : End of the road for me

Today my final mod was installed. None other than a set of Kooks headers thanks to Brain (FordNut) for selling them to me and Zack (Zack) for installing them for me and giving me advice about what to do with the spare parts. Brain I think it's funny that I have your engine and headers in my car now. BigDogJim thanks for selling me the extra rims for the racing tires. My car is now complete just the way I want it. I am still deciding on the water pump, intake spacer and driveshaft, but those we never high on my list as much as headers.
I will take the car to the track after a fresh oil change and see what it does. The mods are Hooks headers, high flow cats, header dumpers, Procharger number 30, 3500 stall, shift kit, 4:10 gears, Auburn posi (junk) Zack control arms, BFG Drag Radials, K&N Air Filter. Sounds like a lot, it is a lot and it cost me a lot, but it was soooo worth it. Anyone tring to decide if they want a blower go for it and it doesn't matter what you get... a blower is a blower and fun is fun. Zack himself even said he should have gotten a Procharger because he didn't know how quick they were and coming from him thats a major... He was even kind enough to get my door open on my K5 when I drove it over there to pick up the car. :bows:
I really wish I could make it to MV6 but things have changed and really wish I could be with you guys... maybe I can find a way to get sponsored or something, but right now I'm stuck here and I have to fix my winter truck before it snows here in a few months.
Drive it like you rented it and this truly is the best "car" to come out in quite a while.
I must do one more thing and that is to take the car to a muffler shop to get the exhaust fully connected, but right now the open headers Marauder almost sounds better than a small block Chevy... maybe it does... it's a hard choice.
Thanks for everything everyone.

Dom... it's great to hear your accomplishments on this vehicle. I'm enroute slowly but surely I'll get there. Zack thanks for your services! Now Dom... mount up, conquer, and take em' down!!!
Prochargers Kick Major ASSSSS.
If I could do it all over again, Procharger all the way
your Kooks went very well, bout 5 hours total.
Humm with all that, you'd think you'd have a big brake kit thrown in there somewhere. But yeah I can't wait to get to that (completed) feeling. And hey weren't you selling it for some secrete reason?

Were the headers bolted up to the stock pipes?
they were used and modifed to bolt right up to the factory H pipe.

Today my final mod was installed.
Pfft...
My Marauder's previous owner HwyCruiser practically did everything possible mod-wise to my Marauder. Still, I am adding little things here and there.
In fact, there's more to be added to the big Merc this winter.
I don't any of us will ever actually be done modding our cars. :burnout:

Yes brakes would be a wise move and I think I should do it, but I'm also very used to the stock brakes. If I change them the car won't be a sleeper anymore, but with these headers and the blower wine I think I blew that cover.
As far as selling it. I told FordNut I wanted the headers before the conflict and I wanted to follow though. I said something and I meant it. I do not need to sell the car anymore apparently, but I'm not completely sure... it's a real scary time for me right now. I'll just wing it.

Sounds like the install went smooth. Glad to hear it. Enjoy them, Dom!

Congrats, DOM!!!
Do the spacer. It helps - dyno proven.
Do the EMP Stewart water pump. Less $$ and better IMO than electric.
DEFINITELY do a driveshaft. Call Dennis and get the less expensive aluminum one he sells. I don't know the name of it but it's one step below MMX and has sustained me at an EXTENDED 130 run with 4.10's with no vibration at all.
All the best to #30 from #31!!!

Thanks man. If all goes well and I can get to the event in Nov, maybe I can put some of those parts on my then too.... who knows? I would be happy just to get there.
Look what happened! I have more parts I need now! :D
You know I'm glad I wrote a song for my band called Speed Addict, because that's what I am! :burnout:

The audio is stock and that's all I need. I might wanna do the intake spacer, water pump and driveshaft, but all I wanted to do is now done. I was done last week and now that I see all these little parts the bug has bit me again!

Intake spacer is a waste of money.
Leave the water pump alone unless its leaking.
Change the driveshaft only if the car sees 125+ mph speeds often.
