It's incorrect for the 2004 CVPI should be 250 hp 287 lb-ft

also incorrect for:

2001 CVPI which should be 235 hp 275 ft-lb

2000 CVPI 200 hp 275 ft-lb

1999 CVPI 215hp 285 ft-lb

1998 215 hp 275 ft-lb

1997 210 hp 275 ft-lb

For the sake of consistency I'll change it.

For the official record: Ford "Revises" their engine specs from time to time and its impossible to keep track of them all.

When I bought my 2000 HPP it had 285 ft-lb of torque. I don't get how it lost 10 ft-lbs over the years :confused:

And also note that Ford always overates the engine hp on these cars. A 2000 CVPI (stock) dynos about 187 hp at the crank (after conversion), not the advertised 215 hp.

Its interesting to note that with RCSignals's specs, the 2000 CVPI has the same hp as the base 2000 Vic w/o the HPP (single exhaust) 200 hp and 275 ft-lb of torque.

Goes to show you Ford is seriously whacked out when it comes to tuning these motors.

Yes, I was surprised it wasn't listed as 215hp. The torque seems correct for a 2000

That would be correct Petrograde

Also, for interest sake, the 2000 CV order guide shows the HPP package as having 215 hp and 275 ft-lb.
The standard CV shows 200 hp and 275 ft-lbs.

I'd think the 2000 CVPI should also be 215 hp vice 200. Basically the HP increase in the HPP version is because of the dual exhaust

I can't find any literature from 2000 showing the CV with 285 ft-lbs

BUT can you outrun or outsmart the radio is the big question???

Even my neon is faster than the times michigan got for the latest crop of cop cars (CV, FWD wimpala, Intrepid, yukon)

If 98-00 Vics really did have 215 hp at the crank FROM THE FACTORY they'd be running mid to high 15s BONE STOCK. But they're not. :)

Stock 00 CVPIs are running 16.2 to 16.5 on the 1/4.

Yep, CVPIs are the slowest panthers of the bunch next to single exhaust Vics.

The MMs are much better than the cheaped out CVPIs - nice leather seats, floor shifter, cool new wheels, and foglights!!!!!!!

The right MM can scoot well ahead of any CV/PI...Well before anyone can repeat route and speed on any radio.

Drive short, turn often, and put as much distance as you can beween bumpers, and you will beat every radio...IMHO.

Ford says 239hp for 2004 CVPI.

rider, in that time I think there were exhaust system changes, some EEC tuning changes, addition of a knock sensor, and for 2004, a new airbox/MAF

Hmmm in 2004 didn't they change the torque converter for the P71?

They may be using a new torque converter for 2004, but I haven't read anything about it.
