I can't stand it any longer. It's sooooo annoying that modern cars are still called cars with very few exceptions with the Marauder being one of them. Post your favorite 50's cars! As many as you want and pictures are fine too. I have no order so here are mine:

56 Chevy Bel Air

59 Chevy Impala

57 Ford Thunder Bird

55 Ford F-100

59 Cadillac Eldorado 2 door convertible

58 Ford Edsel

58 Plymouth Fury.... yes we all know why

I know Chrysler had some good ones too, but I don't know the models.

What are your favories?

You forgot about the most known about 50's cars of all time, the '55 and '57 Chevy's although I like the '55 better.

At least this thread is loosely associated to marauders.

I always loved the 57 Plymouth Fury even before Christine made it famous. Big fins and big motor...

My list from the '50s tends to be GM-Chevy heavy. If I had to pick one ... it would be .....

'55 Chevy

Others in the honorable mention category include:

'56, '57, '58 Chevys (Bel Air & Impala)
'53, '57, '58 Pontiac Starfire
'53, '57, '58 Buick
'56, '57 Cadillac
'56, '57, '58 Corvette
'55, '56, 57 Thunderbird
'56, '57 Ford Fairlane
'50, '51 Ford Victoria

As you can tell, I have a preference for the '55-'58 period. :D

it's really sad, but i completely ignore '55-'57 chevys anytime i see them at car shows. i've seen so many, i just don't care anymore. also, i'm not really wild about anything pre-1955, so there's really only a few cars i get really excited about:

#1 on the list would probably be the late-50's pontiac star chiefs/catalinas, but if i had to pick one, i'd pick the 1959 (http://www.1motormart.com/gallery/59pont01.jpg) because i like the rear end (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2108/2401680794_f92c5b3330_o.jpg) the best.

i also like the 1959 (http://www.sweetauto.net/gallery/files/1/1959-Desoto-Firedome-2dr-ma-2.jpg) desotos.

my favorite '57 goes to dodge (http://sorrentolens.files.wordpress.c om/2008/03/1957-dodge-cr-conv-front.jpg) for their royal custom.

In 1958 my aunt had one of these in this color combination, I always have remembered that car, wish I had this one. There are several late 50's Mopars I liked, never any GM, but the big caddy, my all-time favorite is the blue metal-flake, white pearl top 57' Ford Fairlane 500 I had in high-school.
