...and before anyone even thinks to post up a "Not another nascar thread" type comment, keep in mind, I have all the buttons, and I LIKE nascar.

If you don't, well...Too bad. You shouldn't open these clearly marked threads, so nanner nanner nanner. :)

LL#3: he got what he deserve. Of course in days of old the guy would duke it out(fight, throw punches, etc.) in the pits where no one could see them.

No sense of humor

If you remember that a long time ago during the Daytona 500, I think it was Cale and Allison, were dukeing it out in the infield grass.

No one said you didn't have a sense of humor BDJ :D

I like NASCAR but I have no interest in the racers. I wish they showed more of the cars, the engine, etc... on broadcast TV instead of the drivers. Also the announcers need to shut their traps once in awhile and have more in-dash shots and audio of the engine.

I thought it was kind of funny what Harvick and his team did. This is the stuff that attracts people to events - violence and mayhem. No one wants to see a perfect crash-free race. No one wants to see death either but its the middle point that attracts people: violence, destruction, and overall mayhem.

Why do you think everyone stops on the highway or slows down to look at an accident? Yes these people are stupid but they want to see some blood, violence, destruction, etc... This stuff sells.

Maybe if they got in some WWE Smackdown style brawls at the end of races...

I make my living with NASCAR and NHRA and this action by NASCAR is BOLOGNA!!, this stuff is good for the sport, Brings back a little rivalry, Harvic needs to be a little more like The Man!

If Harvick wasn't in second place for the points, he would have been suspended! Of course he would have been suspended if he was driving anything but a Chevy as well.

Oh yeah? I don't have FSN.

I still think they need rivalry and conflict in this sport.

I read the story (thanks for the link LL3) and found it kid of dry. Reads more like a court reporter's Cliff notes of a meeting, than a reporter's view of the action. Didn't know the rule book was so intolerant of a few colorful words used creatively. I thought complimenting a driver's mother was a standard greetiing in NASCAR.

I don't mind the posts, sometimes I'm interested, sometimes not. Would it be less controversial to have a NASCAR forum, or, are we too diversified already?

Ya know Sarge, that might not be a bad idea! Maybe, if Logan can would do it, we should have a NASCAR section on the forum! So wadda you say Logan? Can you do it?

Just my two cents:

I think The Lounge is the appropriate place for Nascar threads. As a longtime Nascar fan, I like to read what my fellow marauderers have to say about the shenanigans and everything else Nascar-related. I agree with Logan, if it's clear that it's a Nascar thread, and you're not interested (not interested in Nascar? How un-American!), then don't open it.

My favorite driver for the last five or six years is Mr. Excitement, Jimmy Spencer. Leave it to him to start this latest round of driver/crew involuntary donations to the Nascar corporate account.
