Just a reminder to all Star Trek fans that the new season of "Enterprise" starts this Wednesday the 10th.
The show is suppose to go in a new direction making them less wimpy.

Thanks so much, I am a BIG Star Trek fan. I didn't know they were going to be less wimpy so this should really be a good thing. Have you been to the Star Trek experience in the Hilton at Las Vegas? I recomend it highly!
I tried to like that show, I really did! I think the only way that they could really improve it is to jettison that Scott Bakula fella out of a photon torpedo tube!

Enterprise really grew on me,... I don't really care for Scott Bakula though.
Was I seeing things or did I see a flash of T'Pol's boobs on the preview?

I just watched enterprise and I would say it was pretty good.
Of course they do have a few new characters to build on, like the military chick who was kicking some *** in the ground assault, I hope they use her more.
And I just have two words to say about T'Pol.
"Yum me"

I thought the new episode was very good, they finally are kicking some alien ass. Also did I mention BOOBS????

...yeah boobs are cool, very cool.
I also thought the Insect alien was really cool, I would assume he is an "3D" creation, or at least his head.
...and oh yeah boobs...

I like Enterprise much better than Voyager. Scott Bakula is good in the role. Far better a Captain than "Janeway"
Voyager made me stop watching Star Trek, until Enterprise.

The thing that makes "Enterprise" much goodly different is thqt they are pre-super tech unlike TNG and Voyger and Deep space nine...it's kind of refreshing to see the plots unfold, but what's with the new command center...what was wrong with the bridge??? they must be trying to come up with a CIC (combat information center) like our ships have...OH, and the new and improved T'Pol is crqckers...very close to Seven of Nine without the hardware....:D :D :D

Darn! I missed the opener last night! On the up side, my son and I were out to Las Vegas last weekend to buy a '78 ford F150 (but didn't cause there was too much wrong with it). We stayed at the Luxor and I took him to the Hilton for the Star Trek Experience. I've done it a couple years back but we both enjoyed it! Can't wait for their 4D Borg experience coming soon!

I think Enterprise is pretty darn good.... but I have not watched it regualary since the first season......just not in my schedule...wanted to see the opener.....will look for the repeat.....I think the best formula for Star Trek has always been a core of friends or people that relate well taking on the universe....Kirk, Spock, McCoy....that kind of thing...Picard, Ryker, Data, Worf......
Kirk is the BOMB and the one true captain......Love those original series baby!
T'Pol is OK...but no one can touch 7 of 9......

Never been a huge Star Trek fan as I've never liked the 'vision' of Humanity's future in these shows. We always get plenty of episodes with conflict and violence, but where's the special forces? They don't exist now because humanity is 'enlightened' now. Yeah, right...
And don't even get me started on military protocol and the lack of it in Star Trek. Why can't people salute a superior officer? Why? Would it be so bad? Would it be so bad if people stood when the captain enterred the room? Would it be so bad if people waited to leave until they were dismissed? Argh. I got started on that anyway, sorry.
Anyway, the new episode of Enterprise was more how I think all Star Trek series should be: marines onboard the ship for both ship security as well as surface operations. Right on! Plus, as an added bonus, they were completely cool! I loved how they repelled in and blew away anything that moved. I'd like to see a little more discipline with weapon handling, but that's not a big issue.
Now if they'd just find a way to stuff some fighters on board for escorting the drop ships to the surface and back we'd be set. :)

Naw Fourth. They should pilliged all the data out of those Borg-sicles; built a Defiant class assault vessel; armed it with phased cloak, quantum torpedos, and those shields that Voyer had to defeat the Borg queen, then gone and turned the Zindi planet into an new nebula.
Mike M

The special forces team onboard is fantastic and I reallly liked the way they handled themselves. I hope they expand on them and having fighters onboard to escort the shuttle craft would be cool as well.
The engineer "Tripp" looked more buff this season and seemed much more agreesive although he was a little shy with the Vulcan Boobs. Overall they have to get more aggressive and kick some alien ass.

If it was up to me the ship would be missile launchers stem to stern.
Actually, allow me to geek on the Trek thing here for a sec, wouldn't it be cool if the starships weren't jacks of all trades? I mean, shouldn't we have dedicated science and exploration vehicles and dedicated war ships? Like, instead of one ship sailling out into harms way trying to do it all itself, wouldn't it be cool to have battle groups? If your science vessel needs cover just send a couple cruisers with it.
Then the cruisers could be stem to stern missile launchers.
Ok, I'm done geeking about Trek.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Troi from TNG. She always wore skin tight clothes. Yum! You know she was able to read thoughts. If I was on the Enterprise she would have been slapping my face everyday!

TooManyFords,
SG-1 is one of the best shows on the air, IMHO, I got hooked with the original movie and just followed it from the beginning of the series thru the current season...In my area the SCI-FI channel shows 4 episodes every monday from 7 to 11 PM and I tape them and watch one a night thru the week...Yes, I'm a Gater and proud of it...no flames from me...:D :D

Mike,
The 1 in SG-1 designates the number of the star gate team (in this case the stars of the show)..there are numerous teams that do thier own thing, and not normally connected with the current episode... I.E.: SG-2, SG-5, SG-16, etc., etc., (you get the picture)
when you are the stars of the show I guess you get to be number 1...:)

And you've got to like a show that has dedicated Marine combat teams such as SG-3.
Just to add to what lshultz said: some teams are recon and first contact teams, like SG-1, some are combat teams (like the afore mentioned SG-3), and there are dedicated diplomatic teams, archaeology teams, etc. All of this falls under the command of the SGC, StarGate Command run out of the Cheyenne Mountain Complex by the USAF.
It's a pretty cool show, though it's not the type of show that's easy to jump into the middle of. The show constantly references back to previous show 'history' and they don't do much of any hand-holding at all. They assume you know who all of the Gu'uald (sp?) System Lords are, for example, and if you don't then you're left to fill in the blanks for yourself.

SG-1 is indeed a great show. I got it in my area for 5 years, then the took it off the air. Strange for a show thats shot in Vancouver.
I have to resort to downloading the shows when someone posts it to a message board.
Best lines from SG1: (time to show some real nerdiness):
O'Neill: "What kind of an arceologist carries a weapon anyway?"
Jackson: (Raising hand) "Ummmm..I carry a weapon"
Episode "Prometheus"
New deep space ship - Col O'Neill becomes de-facto "Captain".
Carter: "No Col O'Neill, you can not name it 'USS Enterprise' ".

I dont think that Daniel Jackson is a killing kind of guy..that wouldn't be proper...make friends with them instead...although they do let him carry an occasional Zat gun...

I noticed that. Sometimes he does get a weapon, but usually just a .45.

Yup, he normally caries a sidearm, a military standard Baretta 9mm. I'm sure he wouldn't want the P-90 anyway, I just think it's funny that it's never offered to him. hehe.
Mad, I don't remember which episode it was but one of the characters, I think it was Captain Carter, made a snide comment about sending up a virus to an enemy mothership. They were making fun of the movie "Independence Day." Pretty funny. :D

That's one of the reasons I like SG1 - all the little quips like that.
The offbeat humour really jives with my own sense of haha.
