This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around... could work in case of a medical emergency also.

Its a great idea and will definatly make them run away.

However 99% of the people I see don't care when car alarms go off anymore unless their on for like 3-4 minutes or more.

Btw this works great durring halloween night. Wait till people get by the car and hit it. OR hide in the trunk and use the handle to pop out. hahaha

My key chain also has my house alarm remote. Now setting the two of them off together would make a fair racket. :P

That is a good security tip. Normally ignored, a car horn blasting in the middle of the night will grab some attention.

I do it anyways... wallet keys cell and fire pager are right next to my head everynight so I can grab them all and go if there is a fire call... good to have there for the panic alarm as well

Car alarms don't do much anymore. But the ratchet of a shotgun sure shrinks the anal sphincter.

A big sounding dog helps too.
