I just want to make sure my rear defrost works before winter. When you turn on the switch the tabs on the glass should all get power?I turned it on one morning didn't seem to work or does it take a while for it to heat up.

if you have a test light, turn the defrost on and put your test light on each line across the window, it should light up if theres power there

I believe you can test the electrical connectors on the glass.

like said above you have to run test light from the tabs on one side to the other. then you shoudl have some current.

If the defroster switch goes bad, do you have to get a whole new dot matrix panel?
I just ordered a panel and it came with the defroster switch.
