Let's supose that I want the traction control OFF all the time except when I want to turn it ON...
Would it be possible to switch the wires on the traction control switch to reverse the way the switch was designed to work...
In other words... when you start the car the traction control would be OFF...when I flip the switch the traction control would be ON...:)
Thanks for any direction on this...

I know there is a kit on ebay you can get that does this.
I just hate how freaking bright the light is at night.

you COULD take out the ABS/TC box and replace it with just an abs controller from a 300A.
Then you wouldn't have T/C at all though.

Take the switch apart and put a filter in it to reduce the glare....easy and effective!!
Switching the wires will do nothing as it is a momentary switch that makes contact every time you hit it and the PCM alternates it between "off" and "on".....with the default being "on" every time you start the car!!:argue:
The TC delete in my tuner will not work and I don't know if anyone has been successful turning it off permanently??
PM me and I can walk you through the removal of the rocker and installation of a light filter if you can't figure it out!!:D

I just turn mine off when I get in the car, just as I always turn the O/D off before driving.
Get in the car, put seat belt on, start car, left hand turns off the T/C and right hand turns off the O/D. It's become like second nature to me that something doesn't feel right if I forget to turn either one off.
The light doesn't bother me since where my head is my M/F switch blocks it. I get more glare from just the gauge cluster more than anything else.

pull the TC relay!!!! Then put it back in during the winter months if you drive it then!

this was taken from a post on this website on 4-28-06
quoted from Metroplex
"The timer circuits are already out there and they are a total waste of money. A $2 Radio Shack rocker switch does the same job. Basically you hook up the SPST rocker switch and click it ON (short contacts). When you start the car, it will disable to Trac Ctrl OFF. When you need it again, just flick the rocker switch OFF again and viola, it's ON.
This is derived from a Ford kit to disable the trac ctrl on CVPIs:
jumper lead to short out the control wire (to disable TC all the time)
and instructions on how to remove the Trac Ctrl bulb in the instrument cluster"

Or you could just install a inverter circuit that would change the logic on start up. 5.0 Mustang did a write up on a ford specific chip a few years back.

Thanks for all the information...
If I decide on a solution to my liking I'll post it...
