This is a movie that just came out on 10/10/08. It is about Ernie Davis and his sad but amazing life story. I have not seen it myself, but having seen the trailers and the HBO "inside" story of it's making (and the fact that I am an unbiased Syracuse Alum) I have no doubt that this is going to be a story any football fan will enjoy.
He was the first African American to be awarded the Heisman Award in '61 and he led Syracuse to it's only National Football Championship in 1959. I don't want to give away the rest of his story. Go check it out. I plan on it real soon.
I hope that this helps Syracuse get some recruits for football, and also a new coach. Syracuse is a great school and is in need of a resurrection of it's football program.
