Quote from Billy Glidden

Hello folks, I had written a few days ago, that Dad may be at the race in Vegas? Well it looks like he will be coming out, and in fact racing the grand am of Kenny Perry. This has been made possible by the work and efforts of people behind the scenes, which no doubt include Mel, and a few sponsors. It actually does not pay Dad for time, just to get him there, so obviously he is excited about racing once again! Anyone who wants to see this old mad dog shoe one down the track again, had better get out there, because lord knows when the stars alighn again to make this happen! Thanks, BG

This will be at the PSCA Super Nationals in Las Vegas Nov. 20th-23rd. The last time Bob Drove was 2006 in Bradenton. He drove Kenny Perry's Ford powered Grand Am to win the 10.5 Outlaw class. He beat Billy Glidden in the semi's. It will be great to see the two of them racing together again!!! Billy will be driving the 2006 Pontiac GTO with the small block Ford in it.

Used to be fun to watch him when he came to Michigan. What a great drag racer!

Many years ago, my Father called me from his office at Ford Motor Company - Kentucky Truck Plant asking me if I ever heard of Bob Glidden.

My immediate reply was "Who hasn't!".

Dad told me to get in my car and call him from the lobby when I got there as Bob was at the plant with his drag car.

Double timed it to the plant and met Dad for the long walk to where Bob was set up.

His car and tractor-trailer (same paint schemes) being pulled by a Ford CLT-9000 were in the back parking lot of the plant.

Got to shake hands with him while talking a little about his car.

Super nice guy!

Nice to hear this news.

Mike.

A true Ford man! Right up there with Len and Glen Wood, Bud Moore, Holman/Moody and probably John Force.
