View Full Version : Height adjustment on seats?
Got Diesel?

I'm not really tall but I feel really claustrophobic in the Marauder, is there a way to lower the overall height of the seats? I haven't taken delivery of it yet so I haven't looked into it myself (I pick it up tomorrow)
Any input would be appreciated.
Maybe this should be in shop talk, i donno??

Do you really want to feel claustrophobic, try driving/sitting in the current Chrysler 300, now that's CLAUSTROPHOBIC.

Rent an Altima and drive it exclusively for two weeks. ;) Then switch back to Marauder.

I believe the difference is that the seat motor takes up the vertical room. Unlike my crown vic, where I have loads of head room and sit lower, the MM only grants about an inch between me and the headliner.
Want lower seats? Do the "power seat delete" mod.

push the back portion of the seat down, then the seat will drop, pushing it back and the seat will drop much more. You will then need to push the seat upright part forward this will keep the cushion low but the backrest up. The only down side is the seat becomes harder and for a softer ride lower all the way down, back then raise the whole seat cushion up (front and back just a bit) without going forward. Massive headroom unless you have a huge swollen head.

When i drive my crown vic with bucket seats I sit much lower than in my marauder. It is just the extra padding & shape of the marauder seats that makes you sit higher.

Crawl in the trunk and close the lid.
I did that in a crown vic LX, while it was roomy the only things i could see was the glowing release handle and my glowing watch hands :D

I'm guessing the new MM has a Moon roof. That steals about 3" of headroom. Mess with the seat controls, especially the Butt lowerer and the setback rake adjustment, and you'll be just fine. Also, there's a pin located in the rear of the track that can be removed that allows the seat to be moved farther to the rear. You could also check to see if the previous owner had shims placed under the seat track to gain more hight. Good luck and enjoy the new ride.:)
PS.. no problem posting your thread in this forum. and....:welcome1:

I do not think I fully understand your issue?
If your not tall then why would want to sit lower?
Would this not add to your claustrophobic feelings?
Does the car have a sunroof?
I have had the seat out of my marauder and you could lower them if you switched seats to an aftermarket brand.
I have no headroom. (6'6")
Best of luck and welcome to the club......:banana:

Go with the light flint interior, it makes your environment feel more spacious!

Having a Marauder does't make it any easier!
