what will work if not available?
Marshall; Your location in Eleele, Hawaii is a challenge. Sometimes dealers keep tires in this size. Possibly local Tire shops, they buy a quanty but don't advertise since it's not a "popular size".
Tire Rack seems to be on stock backorder, again.
Other discount tire shops may have some, google "discount tires" or similiar key words.

I waited four months, for them to come off back-order, (they still haven't), so I bought 285/50/ZR18's from Continental, at tire rack.

There are a few other sizes that come close, so that may be a better option than getting OEM rears.. check out 1010tires.com or tirerack to compare sizes, good luck.

OEM's are a PITA to find right now, may be better off going to another brand, 255-18-18's are what a lot of us are running.
Lots of choices: Hankook, Kuhmo, General, Nitto, etc. Just make sure you choose something with at least a V speed rating.

BFG 245/55/18 will get easier to find when the new Camaro comes out, but until then I'd recommend Nitto 420s in 255/55/18. My speedo is dead on with these, they last way better than the OEM and traction is superior.

i gave up and bought some goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 in 255/55/18 for the back they had the speed rating and performance of originals. i think the tread looks stupid but they gave the best specs in my book and cost a 100 more with shipping than bfg's that are non existent on this planet. i have one bald tire right now so push came to shove. thank you for the input and i'm glad the guy that sold me about the car told me of the web site

Grab a set of Nitto 420S in 255-55-18.
$120 each stateside.
They last a hell of lot longer than the garbage BFG's on backorder.

Are the Nitto's good for a daily driver? I agree witht he BFG being junk. And forgive my tire ignorance but can you fit the 255-55-18's on a stock rim? I don't have the widened rims.
It seems like I just put a set of rears on the Big Black Car and now I need another set. Maybe I need to slow down...... Nah Bigger tire budget is whats called for...:burnout:

Hack, you can run them on the stock rims w/out any problems. Great for a daily driver I used them for a year. However, I have no clue how they would be in the winter as I had my snows on prior to any falling.

Ditto^^^^
They are NOT race tires. Don't let the name fool you.
The 420S is a light truck rated tire and definately a daily driver.
Absoluteley no fit issues. In fact, you sit only but 5/8" taller in the rear.
Practically unoticable.
On a side note...in a pinch...they do perform decent at the track. Thus proved by my mid 11 runs. But NOT good enough to achieve low to sub 11 runs I know I am capable of doing.
NOT advised for snow.
As is EVERY all season in my opinion.
Our car is heavy, sits on super wide tires on hard compound, rear wheel drive, and torqy. Snow tires are needed if the air falls below 28 and any amount of accumulation is expected. Again...MY firm opinion coming from a family history of tire engineering and manufacturing.

Why does everybody seem to hate the stockers so much? I know they wear fast but they also stick like glue in wet conditions. My last set lasted over 25,000 miles with countless brake torques. Not stirring the pot just wondering?

Hey guys thanks for all the input. I'm in the market for new tires and may snatch up a set of these..

Personally, they've never stuck like glue in wet conditions for me, but my statement is based on the fact that my current tires easily outperform the stock tires in wet conditions. Have you tried different tires on your Marauder?

I drove mine all through Chicago's winters and they were fine, but If there's something way better I'm all ears.
I guess I'll clarify my statement of wet performance: I do NOT mean snow performance. Usually, wet performance is a measure of a tire's ability to channel away or stop given standing water on a roadway surface. Snow Perfomance is a different beast due to ice and other factors. I agree with Cruztaker in that I would never recommend a Summer performance tire or even All Seasons for driving in snow, especially on a RWD car.
