Any word on the Gear Vendor project. There were pics up and looked as though the thing was done. Dyno? Time slips?

I was on the dyno today with the car, and I will say it is very impressive, and I am not even close to being done, the car will make 600 RWHP easy, I will post shots of the cars install tomorrow here are the few of the top side, and I will post a updated dyno sheet tomorrow.

Here is the data log the car was only running 14 degrees of timing at a 2.0 load, ACT was 110 degrees at 17 PSI

I drove the gear vendor kit yesterday the car runs great, after we solved a high IAT issue, which I will go into, here are the install pictures.

I had to have the drive shaft shortened 4" Dynotech did that and rebalanced the shaft.

Here is shot of the rear transmission mount over all this was a straight forward install.

Here are the controls, as you can see it has two modes automatic or manual, each mode is activated by a dimmer floor mounted switch, once the car reaches 55 if in the auto mode it locks up.

Now here is a tail for you, lithely, while the car is on the Dyno the IAT kept going up with RWHP, I was afraid the IC was not keeping up, so I ran straight cold watter in the IC with out using, the IC pump reservoir, the IAT dropped I finished the car right at 578 RWHP, so I get the car off the Dyno, and Steve Edwin and I start checking the IC system. This car has a reman 03 Cobra motor and another shop installed it, we noticed the IC pump was wired wrong,so we fixed that checked the reservoir it's full, but still no watter circulation, so I said heck with it it has to have a restriction the pump was working, so we pulled the reservoir down checked all the hoses, they were clear, then Steve notices some thing sticking out of the suction 3/4 fitting at the bottom of the reservoir this feeds the IC pump, You wont believe it.

Yes it is a baby RAT, I guess when they had all this apart installing the new engine it got in there, now that is heck of tail story.

Well after several days of driving and finally getting the car back on the dyno I was convinced the gear vendor was not working, and I was right first it had a bad foot switch, then we found a wiring problem from gear vendor, going to the speed tack generator, we fixed that yesterday, and we ran the car up to 185 MPH on the dyno the RPM were 4500. I will post the sheets tomorrow, at this speed with no wind drag the entire exhaust was glowing which we immediately shut the car down. Today I data log-ed and watched the AF it was good for a non WOT run up to 145 MPH so we are going to install a set of 410 tomorrow and dial the car in, one of the unique issues faced with this is how to correct the speedometer when the gear vendor is engaged, I am toying with the idea of using a flip chip to be activated by relay tripped with the switch engaging the gear vendor I will keep you all posted.

We have a Gear Venders in a 69 Dodge Coronet with 4:10 rear. Big block with a torquflite. You will love it. We used a B&M floor shifter with a line lock button on the side of the T handle to control shifts I/O of GW. Hit the button to upshift over 5K in secound is a ton of fun. Saturday night car tons of fun but not so radical that it was possible to drive to Hot Rods Power Tour in 07. We saw a MM at Great lakes and had thoughts of trying to do a trade as the trip home was not going to be comfortable. Bought a 03 MM this year

Thank you John and Jerry, it works perfect, here is what I did, I cut one end off the SCT cable it has three wires and a shield, the wires are red white and black, shield and white are position 1, so I set the car up for 410 gears on position 0, this Marauder does not have traction control so he is running 17" tires so I adjusted the revs per mile and checked the speedo with a GPS and got it perfect, then I adjusted the shift points, now on the floor is the dimmer switch that engages the gear vendor, Napa sells good relay with harness, so I wired the relay to come on when the gear vendor is activated, this closes the contacts that I connected to the white and shield, the gear vendor cuts the gear ratio by .78 so I subtracted that from the 4.10 and in comes up to about 3.30 so I set that as the axle ratio for program 1, I then drive the car and it was 4 MPH slow as compared to the GPS, so I adjusted the revs per mile and got that perfect, and readjusted the shifts for the gear vendor, so this is the one time I really like the chip, the EEC is also flashed in case the chip should ever fail, or he needs to send it back.
