I bought my last vcr six years ago and paid slightly more than a good quality dvd player. It is a mitsubishi, the same as my analog 60" rear projection and i paid around $375.00 for it. Sad thing is these are set up in the basement and only have about 25 hours on them. All other tv viewing is done upstairs on the plasma with dvd (soon to be blueray) and hd dvr satellite.

I purchased that vcr for the long haul, we have countless movies and kids movies that i can't see replacing and actually the picture quality is pretty darn good when you upgrade a little from the $100.00 ones and rewind (remember that?) is only like 32 seconds for a full length movie.

I try to upgrade when finances allow but even a new (system) every 5-6 years is costly and the fact in three month's its allready yesterday's news! Is it worth it? I think so....????
