Hi guys, I have found an '03 that I am interested in. I had planned to stick with an '04 to get one with the most refinements. What are the pro's and cons of an '03 to an '04? Were there any problems with the earlier 4R70W trans? I would apprecciate ant thoughts or advise? Car VIN #2MEHM75V33X663796
Thanks, Frank.

I ran an OASIS report on it. It was never at a dealer for any warranty work. The previous owner bought a 5/60 extended policy and never had to use it. Regarless, of any shortcomings that the 2003 models have in comparison with the 2004s, you can get by with a tune, gears and/or other power adders and have no complaints.

Welcome Frank.
Two things that made my decision for a 2004 was Traction control and heated seats.
Good luck!

I REALLY wanted the heated seats..but I just could not pass up the $3,500 rebate at the end of '02.

BTW: I never really thought about it...but...If you got traction control, did you still get the limited slip differential?

Thanks Fellas, nice welcome and replys :) I'm mostly concerned with reliabilty issues. Thats great that you could run an OASIS report Roy, thankyou, is that equivalent to a Carfax? Would this cae fall into the group with the "Soft Axles"? Noisey engine [ticking that I've heard about in early cars]? Is this car a 300a or b? Early or late production?
I am located in Castlegar BC, 20min from the US border.

00FXD welcome to the site, enjoy! I wanted an 04, but got an 03... so far no problems with mine at all! If I understand correctly, you can put the size of the rear tires all around with no hassle, unlike the 04's that have traction control. Who needs traction control anyway? LOL!

Personally I liked the interior of my 03' more. I hate the plastic rubbery console and miss the vinyl sides of the shifter console.
