It happened to my wife, looking at the tach instead of the speedo when we first got our Corvette back in 87. She came back from the grocery store and told me that it seemed like she was going to fast down a 25mph road and that the speedometer must be off. I didn't think about it until the day after driving to work what had happened, She had to be doing 70 down that road!
