Has anybody here ever driving their polished marauder wheels in the Winter? If so are there any blurs or defects in the polished material from the salt? Or do they still look like new. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I have stock OE wheel w/ 34k miles on it that is starting to develop small corrosion spots under the clear powder coat. It has no scratches or chips through the clear that caused it to start, the wheel is in completely un nicked condition. I know my friend's cars w/ alloy wheels in upstate new york seem to get really bad faster than others, I'm sure salt won't help

Remember your wheels are clear coated, it's not a bare polished wheel.

Not mint, but they're doing a good job holding up. I should limit the use as much as possible in the winter time.

I have driven the DTR every day since October 2003 thru 5 Michigan winters.
The OEM wheels are neither pitted nor corroded.
One wheel has lost a tad of clearcoat at the valve stem hole, but no discoloration nor degradation has occurred.
The wheels have had 1 coat of wax applied per year.
The MM has 25,500 miles, mostly city, and is garaged daily/nightly.
Hope my comments are helpful to you.

Mine are perfect. Just keep them waxed.

We use a LOT of salt here in Buffalo. I use steelies and snows and pack my good rims in my nice warm basement for the winter.

I bought a spare "b-grade" set of rims with 235 60R18 tires on them. I have NO INTENTIONS of taking BLUE out in the winter with the road salt, but you have to prepare for emergencies .

I used the original set the first winter I had it, and it got pretty deep here. Took my 3 girls out in it and went nutty on the superwide streets we lived on, everyday for a week. When the original set of tires wore down I bought a whole nuther set of Marauder tires/rims off e-bays, drove them till I shredded the back ones, thru another set of B.F.'s on the back, and those are now bald. This is the first winter I'm actually seeking "steelies", but neither set of rims I own suffered any winter/salt damage or pitting. And they've never been polished or waxed. And I drove it all over Hell's creation in crappy snowy weather.

I went one winter season on the OEM tires & rims, big mistake! this car goes no where with out snow tires.
I know of some locals that have enviromental damage on thier rims from salty conditions.
The biggest problem is when the finish starts to degrade, it's too late.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I just don't want to ruin a beautiful set of rims so I figured to ask first.
